“My go-to place in NY!”

The Wellington is definitely no-frills but a great deal, so I always stay here if rooms are available. The location is great; close to Carnegie Hall and Times Square, and it has a nice little cafe on the ground floor. I would advise anyone staying here to shoot for as high a room as possible because the elevators are small and usually crowded, so the higher the floor, the easier to get an elevator. The higher rooms have the best view, especially if you can get one with a little terrace and a view of 7th Avenue. This is an older hotel, but it had no bedbug reports last time I looked, so that's a big plus as some of the more expensive hotels in the area do have numerous reports! The guests are a great mix of tourists from various cultures; it's fun to guess where everyone is from. You can also get upgrades when it's possible, and I've even gotten a very large room with a kitchenette. Another plus: very close to several subway lines, with one train entrance right next to the hotel. And if you book through their own site you can get free wi-fi. Altogether a great value, especially if you get one of the larger rooms. Finally, I've heard from several sources that the Beatles stayed here, which makes it automatically cool!

Room Tip: The higher room the better, otherwise you'll wait to get an elevator during peak hours. Book on...

Just returned from our first visit to New York and would recomend this hotel both for value and location. Both Times Square and Central Park are only a couple of mins away and 5th Avenue, the Chrysler building, Grand Central station MOMA and the Rockfeller building are all just a 10 mins walk. There is a subway right next to the hotel, which we used and found really easy. We had booked a standard double room but were very pleased to find out that they had upgraded us to a King sized without any extra charge, Our room was nice and spacious the air conditioner worked really well everything was spotless. We were on the sixth floor in the East wing which meant we were on 57th ST instead of 7th Avenue,it was much quieter. We had no trouble sleeping, there was some traffic noise but what else can you expect, you are in New York. All the staff were friendly and helpfull.Would use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for the east wing and anything from floor 6 upwards.

The hotel is in perfect location for 5th Avenue, Central Park, Time Square and Broadwey. It's great if you are on a city break. Also loads of subways around.

The decor is very dated but we jut wanted somewhere to sleep. It was comfy.

The facilities in the room are minimal. No kettle for tea. We had a hob and kitchnette in our room but nothing to cook with or eat with really. Luckily loads of restuarants around for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We arrived home today after staying at The Wellington. It was our first time in New York and this hotel was a perfect base. So close to Central Park, Times Square, Broadway, and tube stations.
The rooms were basic but they were very clean and comfortable. We hardly spent anytime in our room as we were out exploring! The Piccolo gift shop is handy and the Park Cafe underneath the hotel is great for breakfast.

Perfect location for all sightseeing and central park for some peace and quiet! Rooms clean and comfortable but decor a little tired. We were on floor 18 and slept very well with minimum street noise. Staff all helpful and friendly. Very good value for NYC and plenty of choice locally for breakfast.
