“Warm & Elegant”

We took our daughters to NYC to celebrate our youngest's 10th Birthday. We've stayed at the other chain hotels in the past and have not been impressed given the price! We decided to try a smaller boutique hotel and now we'll never go back to the others. The Michaelangelo was truly the warmest and most comfortable stay for our family. Simply beautiful and elegant. We had a little trouble navigating the many hallways but there always seemed to be staff available to point us in the right direction. As well, the concierge was very responsive to our need for help in coordinating our trips to the 9/11 Memorial and the theatre.

All you need when you are at the heart of Manhattan (3 short blocks from Times Square, 6 short blocks from Central Park, 2 blocks from 5th Avenue, and almost all subway lines close by) and you'll walk everywhere, is a restoring sleep. Free coffee and pastries from 7am until 9am, perfect to go shopping early in the morning. Very efficient and quick service (it took only 3 minutes to check in and check out). Nice and polite staff. Definitly we'll come back.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less exterior noises. Ask for king bed.

Stayed in NYC at Easter to see the Boss at Madison Square Garden. This hotel is the real deal, beautiful marble and chandeliers in the lobby, nice cheerful staff, and the "standard" room was very spacious with a big comfy bed, blackout blinds - ideal for sleeping after a long flight - and a modern, very clean bathroom. A few minor gripes - the receptionist told me little about the hotel on arrival - eg I found out by accident they provided free coffee and pastries at breakfast; the bar was pretty deserted and some charges were added to my Bill after I left - admittedly this was resolved by e-mail. Overall a good choice if you can get a reasonable room rate.

Room Tip: My room was on road but still quiet due to good triple-glazing.

Michaelangelo!!! I love this place, love love it. Upon walking into the lobby you feel like your walking into a palace, so beautiful, the front desk staff was super nice and helpful. I did get lost trying to find my room but some of the staff helped me out. I got the Executive Room for my girlfriend and I and this room was worth every penny! Amazing room, extremely big for the city, huge bath tub and shower and the bed, it was like sleeping on a cloud. The view did suck but no biggie. This hotel is sickkkkk I recommend it to everyone, even if its for a night!

p.s.- if your with a group of friends this is the hotel to get , besides the hilton and the other high end places like the plaza, the palace, etc. it has the most space per square inch for a room in the city

Room Tip: you should keep an eye on booking.com. I used this site when booking the hotel and got a great deal...

I travel to NYC from Dallas at least once a month and have seen it all. This is the best kept secret in NYC...staff is attentive, highly customer focused, the rooms are amazing, the location is the best and even when its busy, you never feel like your in a tourist trap. It feels very exclusive but pricing is just a great value for what you get compared to the chain hotels in the area (from my experience). I would also say if you need anything at all the staff are going to bend over backwards and spit nickels to make sure you get what you need.
