One block from Central Park, 2 blocks from subway, & great restaurants near by. Inside my corner room there were lots of windows--with a nice view! No alleyway and grimy windows nearby. All the lovely perks of a 5 star hotel and a wonderful attentive staff. Always appreciate a turn downed bed after a long night out.

Don't miss the Surrey jewel of the rooftop garden. Pricey at night, but a great get-away for relaxation and room for kids to stretch their legs while adults chat in comfort. If you stay up there late, the view down Manhattan is gorgeous.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your generous feedback from your recent stay with us.

We were truly delighted that we exceeded your expectations from our unique design, tastefully appointed details in your accommodation, to the private enclave of our private roof garden, to our central location to the best of New York and most importantly, the gracious and professional service extended by our colleagues.

We were pleased that we exceeded your expectations and The Surrey was well worth it. We remain at your service and look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Sincerely,

Paul Ridguard

We just spend 7 days at The Surrey. We had a spacious corner room, and found the room quite spacious for New York standards. The room rate went down with the length of our stay. The staff is awesome and the hotel was spotless. We really enjoyed the rooftop bar - spent a few nights sitting up there watching the sunsest! Beautiful!!! If I had to find one thing that could be improved, it would be the free wifi. Really, really slow. If you want faster service, it can be purchased, but we did not feel we wanted to spend the extra money over 7 days. We will return!!!!

Location of this hotel is perfect, only a 20 minute walk from the main attractions such as 5th Ave, a 2 minute walk to Central Park. Not too central though so you avoid congestion, noise and city tourism. Location for me was perfect.
Hotel was lovely, our room was a suite so was very large with lovely mod-cons.
Two tips:
1. Do not book any tickets via the hotel's concierge and the brokers - we made this mistake going to Ice Hockey at MSG - the hotel charged us $400 when the same tickets at MSG only costed $90!
2. Do not go to the hotel bar - we were charged nearly $50 for two vodka coke's - that were served to us warm, weak and flat. You would be better off using the in-room mini bar.

Despite this, I would definitely stay here again.

I am disappointed you did not enjoy the bar experience and will pass the feedback along to Bar Pleiades to ensure this is worked on for our other guests as well.

We were pleased that we exceeded your expectations in all other areas and The Surrey was well worth it. We remain at your service and look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Travelled with my mum to New York and this was a good choice for that kind of trip.

This place is very classy. If you want jaw dropping New York people watching at its best, sit in the bar pleinade or out front on the pavement and dine at the hotel's restaurant.

The hotel has a number of Private residences as well as hotel rooms.
Very sophisticated, comfortable and beautiful decor so dress accordingly otherwise you will be out of place!
