But I loved the hotel, had a room on the 32nd floor with a river view, two double beds. Luxurious bedding, great service. The View Bar, is not to be missed on the 48th floor as it revolves. Also a great bar on the 8th floor overlooking Times Square. You must also check in on the 8th floor. A huge bank of elevators, never a long wait.

Just returned from girls week-end in NYC. Have stayed at the Marquis on business previously - mainly due to location. When planning this trip (3 girls to a room), chose it due to room size and the sofa bed in each room in addition to the 2 doubles. It was perfect as each of us had our own sleeping space - the sofa bed was already made up and easily rolled in and out. The hotel staff was very accomodating and everyone very friendly, even though the NFL draft and several other events were taking place in or near the hotel. The location is perfect - walking distance to theater and restaurants with close subway access for those shopping and sightseeing trips beyond Times Square. Enjoyed the concierge lounge, but disappointed is was closed after breakfast Friday and remained closed for the balance of our stay. Good place to relax over coffee and plan your day. We stayed on the 31st floor and had a lovely river view - one of the highlights of the trip was two sightings of the Space Shuttle Enterprise arriving in New York Friday morning. Flew right by our hotel window twice - great photo op! The concierge on 8 recommended Bobby Van's for dinner Friday night - very much to our liking and not too expensive. The Saturday night recommendation (Barbetta's) was much more pricey and the food not as much to our liking - although good, not great. However, the uniqueness of the restaurant made it a memorable dining experience. We had no issues with the elevators as others have reported - not too difficult once you figure out the system. All in all, we were very happy with the hotel and hotel staff - would definitely stay here again as long as the rates remain competitive.

Room Tip: One thing about Marriott - all the rooms are pretty much the same! Views are better from the higher...

The middle of Times Square. I have noisy voice will be heard in the city till late at night, may be able to realize that I've come to NY. The restaurant in the hotel, but gave only buffet breakfast, great service. There is a good time in NY.

When we arrived, we were told that our room was a double/double. However, we were able to upgrade to a king room over-looking Times Square. We felt the upgrade was definitely worth the extra $50 we paid (especially since most of our bill was paid with Marriott rewards points).
The room was clean and quiet. The service was great. We were surprised to receive a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries since we were on a second honeymoon.

We were interested in experiencing the elevator system since we had read so many critical reviews on TripAdvisor. There were occasions when lines formed waiting for the elevator. It is a
good idea to leave early to catch an elevator if you have a time deadline to meet.

We stated at the Marriott Marquis for the weekend. What a great location for going to the theater or just enjoying New York. We had a room with a view of Times Square that was just fantastic.
