We found this restaurant on trip advisor ranked at number 10, so we thought it would be worth a visit because my boyfriend loves French food and we were staying just around the corner. The owner was very friendly and welcomed us with his good sense of humor. The waitress's were prompt and very warm, giving us extra bread even though we knew shouldn't! We ordered a share plate to start that had zucchini fritters, duck wontons and goats cheese - delicious. I then ordered the duck special with risotto and kale and my boyfriend ordered the peppered steak and fries. The food was spot on, and the service excellent. If we lived in the East Village we would definitely eat here regularly. Highly recommended.

We tried about everything and loved it all. The burgers were tasty, the fries tasted like we were in Paris, scallops were mouthwatering and we couldn't get enough of the bread

We had dinner at this quaint french bistro on our first night in New York. We sat in the back rented room- wish it would have been warmer out- would recommend summer dining here versus winter. They have heaters in there but still a bit too chilly for me.
Mussels were very tasty. Loved the broth! Beef carpaccio was good too.
For dinner we enjoyed the salmon, the duck risotto, steak & frites and chicken. All were enjoyed.

We are visiting from England and booked here for my daughter’s 21st birthday dinner. We were seated in the courtyard when was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive. There were 7 of us in total and had a range of starters including the tasting boards, French onion soup and l’escargot. all really nice. We had a range of entrees including the seafood linguine which was really really good, steak frites and cassoulet. All cooked to perfection. Desserts including creme brûlée and key lime pie and the Oreo beignet were all amazing. Great selection of wines and beers too. This is a great little restaurant and well worth a visit. Hoping to get back before we head home

We decided to pay this place a visit on our last day in NYC. It's a relatively small place, but cozy and very personal atmosphere. We had read that booking a table would be necessary because of high popularity at times, but seeing as it was snowing heavy this day the restaurant was almost empty.

The service was good, and seeing as we were mostly alone we had some nice conversations with the man I presumed was the owner of the place.

What stuck most with me after eating here was all the good/new/exciting combinations of flavours in the meals. My personal favourite was the fried calamari with curry/coconut sauce and choritzo sausage. We also had brazed chicken (added our own sweet potato croquettes), and the Tree Bistro burger with parmesan fries. Just wonderful tasting experiences all in all.

Before we left for the night, after eating to our hearts desire, we were also given a little dessert on the house.

All in all it was a really nice place to have a out of the ordinary meal with many different and wonderful combinations of taste.

The only reason for a 4/5 rating is that the food was a bit pricey for the portions, but then again if you value a great and exciting meal the price shouldn't be that much of a problem. Everything else deserves a 5/5!
