I stayed in this apartment for two weeks in June 2015.
The apartment is on the second floor of a house on 121st Street in Harlem. It's actually more spacious than it looks in the photos. There's a very comfortable living room at the front of the house, an open plan kitchen, a very light and airy corridor to the bathroom (plenty of hot water) and a spacious and very comfortable bedroom at the back. More cupboard space than you could wish for. Everything new and well-decorated.
It's difficult to identify the best thing: the kitchen is a proper fully-stocked kitchen with a large fridge, which means that you can cook whatever you want. I've found in the past that "kitchen" can often mean one pan, a single hob and a few random bits of cutlery, but this absolutely is not the case here, you'll have everything you need. Eating in restaurants is pretty expensive so this was a real bonus. The flat is on a residential street, so although it's a short walk to 125th Street which is the main shopping street in Harlem, it is quiet. There's a large washing machine in the basement which you can use whenever you want, and a hanging rack in the flat so you can hang laundry (or a dryer in the basement if you prefer). There's also an iron and ironing board. I was doing a course at Columbia University, which was a very pleasant fifteen minutes walk away in the morning. There are two subway stations nearby and supermarkets. And if you have any concerns about security in Harlem, put them aside. I came back late at night on a number of occasions and felt absolutely safe at all times. The area is very friendly and interesting. Lara, her husband and brother were very friendly and welcoming.
So I'm a big fan of this apartment. I was very glad that I chose to stay here and highly recommend it.
