“Great location, excellent service and spacious rooms”
Reviewed 28 April 2012

We've stayed at the London on several occasions and always come away impressed. On this trip we spent 3 nights at the London and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We especially like the rooms as they have plenty of space to relax and stretch out. The bed was comfortable and the sitting area is particularly nice. It includes a desk, couch and comfortable chair. The lighting in the rooms is also better than most hotels, which is a plus for reading. The bathroom is also large and has all the usual amenities. Internet access was free which is not always the case at upscale hotels.

We always find the staff to be friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant or use the gym on this trip, so can't comment on those.

In addition to the above reasons for choosing the London, the location can't be beat. It's within an easy walk of shopping, theatre and other attractions as well as lots of restaurants.

Overall, we remain very pleased by our experiences at the London and will continue to return there when we visit New York City.

Had a wonderful experience here recently. Stayed for only 2 nights, but all my "urgent" needs during this trip were handled by the staff perfectly! The lobby bar/restaurant is a great meet up place and the bartenders were very friendly. Got a few great drink recommendations and will definitely stay here again in the future.

Room Tip: I hear you can get better rates online than from calling the front desk.

I stayed at this hotel while at a Publishing conference. I checked in and was lead up to my room. I went into the bathroom to freshen up and noticed the toilet had not been flushed. Gross. Then when I walked into the room to call down stairs and just make the staff aware of this (not to complain so much as to raise their awareness), I noticed many stains on the carpet and on the wall paper. While the modern amenities were all present and the room was large with an incredible view, it didn't look completely clean.

The room service was prompt and decent but one item - a goat cheese with truffle honey (on the cheese platter) was to die for !!! Just phenomenal. The lobby gets very very busy on weekend evenings as does the London Bar which was a fun place where I met up with friends each night for drinks (I was there for 5 nights).

Staff was helpful and kind, concierge was also good in organizing a private car, giving me directions, as well as re-confirming several dinners we had planned (Buddakan, Nobu etc.)

Getting a taxi on that street by the lobby is ridiculous. Each time I tried to get taxis (with the help of the doormen), it took at least 15 minutes and there was always a line waiting. (Not sure how they could fix that but it is good to know if you have an appointment to keep!)

Bottom line, I enjoyed my stay, but on our next trip (in September) we will return to our usual hotel, The Palace.

Stayed there this past weekend for two nights. We had last stayed at this facility about 12 years ago when it was part of a different hotel chain. I believe it has changed hands twice since then.

The renovations that have been undertaken are wonderful. If you didn't know better you would think it was a new hotel. the bathrooms are tile and marble and completely modern. The sleeping area is spacious, the bed extremly comfortable, the flat screen just the right size.

The sitting area (it is a suite hotel) is comfortable and accomodating. Another flat screen-perfect size for the room.

The staff is very pleasant and very efficient.

We didnt eat in the facility but did have cocktails in the bar one evening. Attentive staff and very good drinks.

We will be back there on our next visit to New York

the hotel staff is super, the location can not be better, not to0 far from the theatres, close to the Museum, parks and shooping. The bed is heavenly, and the bathub, at first looks small, but is one of the most comfortable ones I have used at hotels to relax after a day of walking.

defently will go back.

Room Tip: We were at a street front room and have no problem with the street noise, the windows cut any noise...
