Great views and well worth the wait. Even in shoulder season and cold weather, there were still queues for a timed ticket, particularly on a sunny day. We had the New York Pass, and whilst the pass has been valuable for a range of activities, it wasn’t very beneficial here except for making this ‘free’ using the pass. If you don’t have a pass, book a time slot online. If you have the pass, you have to queue at the ticket booth to convert the pass into a timed entry ticket (which is stupid really as you should be able to do this online). We queued at 9.30am on a sunny day for about an hour, and got a timed entry ticket for early that afternoon. I recommend going to the ticket booth the day before, in the afternoon, to get a timed entry ticket for your chosen time the next day. When we rolled up for our entry there were minimal people waiting at the booth... When you enter at your designated time, it is quick and efficient to go up to the observation deck with no queues.
