A good restaurant in NYC is not hard to find -- a good restaurant that is also unique, however, is hard to find ... but look no further than Pasta Basta. Here they meld Italian and Japanese cuisine in a most unusual and successful way. Perhaps the best indication that the odd combination is a success is that there were so many interesting and good sounding items on the menu that we will definitely be returning just to see what the dishes taste like. By NYC standards the prices are reasonable -- the service was friendly and attentive as well. Reservations are needed as this place is apparently on the tourist radar screen.
