Description: Keens Steakhouse, a classic New York chophouse, was already famous for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century. Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. Today Keens legendary mutton chops and dry aged prime steaks are still without equal in the city.

We wanted to finish a guy's holiday in style and this fitted the bill. Although there was a mix-up over the booking (not the restaurant's fault) they couldnt do enough to accommodate us. The surroundings were classic although as formal/informal as you want. When we saw a porterhouse steak it looked like something from the Flintstones. We were actually a bit scared! Never fear, the teaks were fabulous and each to aman said that they were the best that they'd ever had. Do not hesitate, book Keen's and enjoy the meat sweats.

During our 6 night stay in NYC we treated ourselves to a meal in the restaurant. We both had steak and they were cooked to perfection. The sides are ample to share and the New York cheesecake is delicious. We also had lunch in the pub on our last day and the burger was the best burger we have ever tasted. If you are in NYC you will not be disappointed with either.

We ate here 6 years ago and had been looking for another chance to experience the food, service and ambience. We were not disappointed. We were greeted promptly and taken to our 3rd floor table. We started by splitting the crab cake appetizer and moved on to the Porterhouse steak for two. Sides were roasted broccoli and cauliflower and French fries. We had a lovely bottle of wine from the diverse wine list.

The crab cakes were very tasty and a nice start to the meal. The steak was really delicious. We ordered it rare and it was perfectly cooked. The filet and the strip portions were melt in your mouth delectable. WOW.

I can't say as much for the roasted veggies. There was too much oil on them which left them tasting greasy. The French fries were hot and good.

All in all a great meal with some of the best meat we have eaten anywhere. And the service was top notch.

Great steak restaurant in Midtown. Food and service was excellent, we shared a chateaubriand and it was lovely. Only downside was the tables for 2 were so close together.

The food was excellent, the only reason I did not give this a higher rating is the rush the staff were in to clear our table, I was still eating my dinner and the table around me was being cleared, I still had steak on the serving tray and they even tried taking that!!! Oh and the fact that they put 2 bottles of tomato sauce on the table, it totally ruined the effect of a beautiful restaurant, I would expect that in a cafe in U.K.
