“A joy to come home to”
Review of Manhattan Skyline

Ranked #1 of 1,175 things to do in New York City
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 3 May 2012

When I travel I love seeing new and interesting places. I enjoy arriving in new places and taking in the vista of the city/town from afar. But nothing takes my breath away as much as coming home to NYC and being greeted by the skyline. I know then that I truly live in the best city in the world.

I've been to many ports all over the world and the New York City
Skyline is by far the best. Day or night it's magnificent. Take a tour, boat ride, midnight sail or just the ferry to cross you will be glad you did.

Jump the no.7 subway to Jackson Boulevard (one stop form Grand Central). Walk 10mins to the East River waterfront. Absolutely one of the best views of Manhattan you will get (UN building, etc.) Lovely boardwalks/landscaping, great for a picnic, sunbathing, etc.

Don't forget to check out some of the really great bars (Dominie's Hoek, Vernon Blvd/2 mins from subway exit), cafes (Cafe Henri, 50th/next to subway exit) and restaurants (the must visit historic Waterfront Crab House (Borden Ave/10mins from subway).

Finally, for another fantastic Manhattan skyline view stay on/get back on the no.8 subway ride a couple of stops further (Court Square) - then change trains + ride it right back wonderful views from the raised track/between the buildings, etc - really worth half-an-hour especially if you've got a pass!

Take the path, have lunch in Hoboken and wander about looking at the skyline...
