You might think that being off the northern end of Central Park is a little bit too far out of town? Think again. This clean, large, modern, well-appointed apartment (with great, well-equipped kitchen)is an easy five minute walk to the Subway(they like to call it the Metro in NY, but hey, it's a subway as we know it all over the world). A large supermarket is close-by. The Subway is very efficient and a cheap, super-quick, user-friendly way to get to anywhere on the network. Don't forget(like I did) that if you have reached the magic 65 year point as we have, you get half-price fares, so a 7 day pass will cost you only $15.00 !! New Yorkers are a very polite and helpful lot too - both young and old. The spacious bedroom's location means that any street noise does not intrude on a peaceful sleep. Simon, the very considerate owner, resides in the apartment below and is on hand to assist with local infirmation and advice.
We would definitely stay again (for another ten nights!).

I booked up New York as a surprise for my boyfriend. We went on 22 November for 5 nights.
When we arrived at the apartment Simon came and greeted us and gave us some tips and helped us with finding where we wanted to go. The apartment was just what we expected from the pictures! It was lovely and modern and clean. It was easy enough to get into Times Square via the subway which was just down the road.
Simon was very good on one occasion when I needed to see a doctor/get to a hospital and he came to the apartment to see how I was and to tell us where was best to go. It was just unfortunate that we ended up loosing a day of sightseeing because of it.
If you don't want to be right in the middle of it all and the busyness then the apartment is great for you. We both loved New York, but found 5 nights just wasn't enough in the end!
Also just a bit of advise when you arrive at the airport do not use a black cab! They rip you off, always get a yellow cab! From the airport to the apartment it should be 60-70 dollars, we got charged 220! Won't be making that mistake again!
Thanks again Simon for your help during our stay!
