Boy I wish someone had told us that this play was so offensive! We spent $500 a ticket and after the "F@#@ God" song, I felt like I was going to throw up. I don't know...maybe I am just a good old southern girl but to me this play's topic was just offensive to any Christian, Africian, etc... The performers were great but at some point during the play I just couldn't believe that I was the only one that was shocked at the anti-Christian (not just Morman) message.

The Book of Mormon is great! If I hadn't known that Trey Parker and Matt Stone were behind it I'd have guessed. Easily. But it's much more than South Park on stage -- it's more irreverent and very, very profane. And it's very funny. There are cameo appearances by -- among others -- Satan and Hitler. I'd been told that it's not so much about Mormonism as a send-up of all organized religion, and that's true to an extent, but it really does focus on the Mormons. But it's not all negative and it has a serious message about the role of religion in improving people's lives. If foul language offends, this is not for you. There are also references to the underside of real life that some may not consider suitable for comedy, but they are handled well. In short, good laughs for broad-minded adults. Leave the kids at home, even the older ones. There will NEVER be a high school production of this show.

The acting and singing is terrific, and the set design is great. BUT, the language and some of the concepts are not for the faint-of-heart.

The greatest show in NYC. From the first, its witty songs, finely choreographed dance numbers whisk you off into a wonderful land of make believe. No, hold on, this is about Mormons so it must be true. I have never laughed so much, kill for a ticket, the sin is worth it.
