“Great hotel”
Reviewed 21 July 2012

Very, very pleased that I chose Hotel Chandler for first trip to New York with my 17year old grandson. The location is great - between 5th and Madison. The room was tastefully decorated, nicely furnished, comfy beds, good sized bathroom with quality products, plenty of towels and snuggly robes. Room not huge but big enough for my grandson and I to share without tripping over each other. Staff friendly, pleasant, welcoming and helpful. We walked easily to Times Square, all the way down to SOHO, past Washington Square Park - good for people watching, and the High Line a little gem NYC should be proud of. We loved everything about our trip - aside from having to come home again. We wholeheartedly recommend the Chandler for providing a quiet haven worth more than the price paid.

Room Tip: We had a room at back of hotel - although building work was going on next door noise didn't star...

This hotel has it all... great location (2 blocks from the Empire State building), great staff (we especially loved Matt the bellman), great free coffee and ice water in the lobby, quite fairly large rooms with quiet sleeping conditions, Aveda bath products, nice sitting area in the lobby. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This was the third time I stayed at this property(July 2012) and first since renovations. Rooms are on the smallish side but well appointed and extremely comfortable. Staff are polite, friendly and accomodating. Address is excellent for city excursions and great restaurants in area. Lobby bar is cozy and a great place to unwind. Looking forward to opening of property's new restaurant. Concierge great and along with 'bell hops' are friendly and well informed. High standards and very professional. Don't waste your time looking for another hotel.

Room Tip: travelers might ask about the bathroom size as they seem to vary room to room. and if you don't...

Recently returned to NYC for business and some fun...I am a native New Yorker so I know what service and comfort in NYC should be.....the Chandler met and exceeded my expectations - value for money is unmatched in NYC...we had a suite for what would have cost for a "standard queen" in most other hotels...location is perfect...right where you want to be to get anywhere in NYC but subway, taxi etc...uptown, downtown...all over....and the great restaurants/fast foods right around the corner...and bars/lounges with a view...we'll be back for sure

Room Tip: Go for the suites on the south side of the hotel...

We found this hotel to be as expected, clean comfortable but most surprising, very quiet despite being in the heart of the city.breakfast is available and we found it way too expensive for what was on offer .(cereals, eggs, toast and cooked meat and cheese) not good value. Staff are polite and attentive. Great central location with a good variety of shops , restaurants etc nearby. The air conditioning was good but noisy.
