We planned to have a family dinner of 7 people here a few weeks in in advance. When we arrived we were not surprised to find it packed. It's not a big place, so I was bit concerned, but they quickly cleared a table in the back and sat us comfortably.
The decor is not remarkable. The place is clearly in the business of feeding hungry people - and feeding them well. The clientele was clearly enjoying their dining experience.
The food is what I would callNew York Italian - sizable portions, with lots of red sauce. My pasta with sea food was a classic of this motif. Others enjoy soups - lentil and vegetarian, ravioli, and pasta of other sorts. A tasty meal for all. A couple of desserts for the kids contained ice cream, cake, syrup, whipped cream, etc. It was shared and enjoyed by all after Italian dishes.
I had found the place by searching for a good "midtown family Italian". It definitely lived up to that definition.
