Travelling alone, it can be hit and miss where you feel comfortable dining solo-room service, dull chain restaurants and tourist traps get monotonous however Il Punto is happily none of those things and one of the most welcoming places I've ever visited. Oh and the food is absolutely amazing.
I would have happily eaten the majority of the menu ten times over but went with an unpronounceable starter of watermelon, cucumber and blue cheese (stay with me) followed by little lobster ravioli with a decent priced wine. There was also a cold tomato soup (not sure it's gazpacho if it's Italian) which was served following ordering. Service was attentive and genuinely friendly, it seemed like people actually wanted to work there rather than just a job.
I'd only knock a quarter of a star off as the price fixe menu only has one pudding option, one that I personally can't stand. Although I'm sure if I'd have asked they'd have offered another but I was so satisfied it wouldn't have been necessary.
So, if you fancy a short wonder from the Broadway strip you won't be disappointed but be positively rewarded for a small adventure.
