“Fabulous location and service”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

I stayed there on an extension of my business trip. THe location is fabulous, near Soho, Broadway shopping area... yet it was tucked away from the hussle and bustle on another road. Metro (red line) was a min walk away and there was another (blue line?) along Spring St which was like 3 mins away. The only time I saw Varick St packed with cars on was Sunday as it was the road leading to the HOlland tunnel (to NJ).
People at the front desk are very nice and friendly When I checked in, the guy noticed that I had just celebrated my birthday (based on my ID) and wished me - it was sweet. And they are very helpful if you need a map, directions or recommendations for food, etc.
Rooms are nice. I know many have made comments about small rooms, but this is the big city and you cannot quite expect rooms to be typical of those small towns/less populated cities where land is vaste and buildings are flat. The room size was nice, clean and building was secure (there is a security guard downstairs and in any case, you need your room access card to get onto any floor in the elevator.
If I had any issue, it would be that the room doors are rather close to each other if you are at the corner - not a big issue though.
Wifi is excellent. I did facetime with my family throughout my stay and the connection was great!!!
I will definitely return and stay in the hotel when I'm back later this year!!!

Our visit to NY was short and literally just for the weekend. It was mainly a foodie trip for us and the plan was to hang out in Soho, TriBeCa, and Greenwich Village. The location of this Courtyard Marriott was a perfect base for us. It is walking distance between these neighborhoods and yet the hotel is away from the bustle. We even strolled all the way to the financial district in Lower Manhattan so it's doable if you don't mind walking and that is the best way to explore the city anyway. If you want to take the subway, the Houston station is just outside the hotel.

The lobby is modern and abstract. Check-in staff were courteous. The room had a somewhat modern design and was clean. Keep your giant suitcases at home though. There is no room for giant suitcases in NY hotels!

We would definitely stay again with no hesitation.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in early March. The hotel was modest, but rooms were decent sized, the place was very clean and reasonably quiet. It's a great location, walking distance to all of the shopping and restaurants in Soho, as well as Tribeca and the West Village.

It had free internet; that should be a feature of all hotels (which it is in most of the world outside of the USA), but even the nicest ones nickel and dime you by making you pay. I always like to vote with my $$ and support the ones who are nice enough to provide this service for free.

It was reasonably priced and, depending on the rate at the time, I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Stayed there for 6 nights in the only suite that the hotel has so don't what regular rooms are like. This is a new hotel and everything was well kept and very clean. Bed was wonderful as well as the housekeeping staff. The suite that we had was on the 2nd floor in the rear of the building onto back walls of other buildings. One could just barely see the sky when looking out the windows. I think this room is supposed to be a handicapped room because the bathroom only has a shower and a shower curtain that is three inches short of reaching the floor. So every time the 3 of us took a shower you needed lots of towels because the water flooded the room. We were there for a wedding and needed more room for another person and the sleeper bed in the living room was nice. We booked the suite because on line the hotel says no roll- away beds are available but others in the party had a regular room with a sofa bed that worked fine for the 3rd person.

The hotel is was amazing. Fresh, clean modern. The rooms are amazing Top of the line everything. Floor to ceiling windows, fresh comfy beds and linens. The staff was always amazing and helpful able to offer suggestions and directions to local restuarants, taking the subway etc, which was helpful considering this was our first trip to New York. As a southerner from Tennessee this hotel eased the stereotype of New Yorkers being so cold because everyone on the staff was always helpful whenever we had questions. There are no sit down restuarants at the hotel late night but they had several restaurants that they refferred for delivery late night and they escorted the delivery driver to the room as a safeguard security measure. Also guest must have a key card to access the elevator for added security. Soho is a nice area so its not that it is unsafe but this is just the level of service the hotel offers. There is also a good bagel shop next door that has great breakfast and lunch options at great pricing and on weekday morning there is a waffle in a box cart right outside the hotel. Access to the subway is right at the stop sign on the corner. If your in town to get married the clerks office is only a 4 minute cab ride and we even walked there ( took about 20 minutes). We also walked to famaous canal street for shopping which is more like a 20 minute stroll cab or subway is much quicker but we had nothing but time. A cab ride to times square aveeraged 12 bucks. Just loved this hotel and its location overall A plus no complaints.

Room Tip: Also we booked through priceline and got this hotel at 99.00 a night
