We got a wonderful close-up view of Queensboro Bridge whilst crossing over to Roosevelt Island by tram.
The bridge connects Manhattan with Long Island City passing over Roosevelt Island.
It is a double-decked Cantilever Bridge which was completed in 1909, and crosses the East River.
It is also known as 59th Street Bridge, but it's official title is 'Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge'.
An impressive structure.

I've seen this bridge from the cable car going to Roosvelt Island. I really recommend this point of view. The trip in the cable car is included in the metrocard and the view is breathtaking!

Love the architecture of this bridge & it's the 59th Street bridge as mentioned in the old '60's song. Lovely to see day or night.

We have the ambition to walk over all possible NY bridges and today it was Queensboro bridge built 1909.
The walk path was very close to the car lanes and rather noisy.
We started this time on Manhattan and we ended up Jackson Heights and nice little walk around 11 km.
The weather was fine and we enjoyed our walk.

Lovely bridge its right outside the back of the Bentley Hotel. We are staying on the 9th floor and as you look out the window you have the view of the bridge. Even thou the bridge is busy you don't tend to get disturb too much, but if your like me I prefer ear plugs.
