We stayed here on our recent trip in July. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The rooms were fairly spacious for new York city and it was spotlessly clean.
The location was handy for times square and the subway without being too noisy.
We enjoyed the breakfast and although it wa busy we always found a seat.
The only negative we had was the wait for an elevator was sometimes really long.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write your review!

We are thrilled to hear you were pleasantly surprised by our accommodations. We always try to make our guest’s experience a memorable one!

The location provides for easy access to all the major transportation options as well as even having a subway stop at the end of our street! The breakfast buffet is amongst a favorite of our guests and is served every morning (M-F 6:30-10 S&S 7-11) for our guests to enjoy! In regards, to the elevator we do encourage our guests to come down earlier for breakfast to avoid the traffic that occurs during our peak breakfast times (7:30-10 on the weekday and 8-11 on the weekends). In addition, you can always request a lower floor room, so you can evade the elevator waits all together!

Again, thank you for your comments and we hope to see you back again soon!

Warm Regards,
Staybridge Team

Absolute gem of a place which is bang on part of Times Square but still discreetly tucked away from the madness!!
The rooms are sparkly clean & the housekeeping does a good job daily. The small kitchenette is well equipped & very handy.
The concierge were extremely helpful & friendly ( we were first time NYC visitors).
The room sizes are good for such a location & the free breakfast is the icing on the cake. Though as others have mentioned, can get busy, but one still manages to get a table soon enough.
We didn't have any trouble with waiting for the lifts.
Overall, a "steal" place to stay with up-to-date facilities & free wi-fi at such a superb location!

Room Tip: Choose rooms on the upper floors! As high as you can get!

Hello there! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

As you know, the Staybridge Suites is centrally located and within walking distance of Times Square. It also makes for easy access to all the city’s transportation options and even including a subway stop at the end of our street! In addition, our concierges are familiar with the area and can recommend where to eat, what to see, give directions, get you tickets to special events, or anything else you heart may desire. They are always here Mon-Sat 8-8 & Sun from 8-4, a great asset to the first time visitors (as you know!!

The Wifi, laundry facility and breakfast are just a few of the amenities we offer complimentary. We get a lot of compliments about our excellent breakfast selection, so you are not the only one who found it delicious. The hot and cold breakfast buffet is served on a daily for our guests to enjoy, from 6:30-10 M-F & 7-11 Sat/Sun!

The staff was wonderful. An employee even came up to our room to figure out why our TV remote was not working. Rooms were clean, up to date. The breakfast buffet was a bit busy, but overall was very good. It was just off the beaten path enough to be quiet, but only a couple minutes walk to our Broadway shows and subway stations. Would definitely come back!

We were set to arrive around 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning, so we called the day before to make sure that we could check-in and have a room ready. They told us that it would be no problem. We are gold members and should benefit from priority check-in. Well, our room wasn’t ready until 2:00 p.m. because the people leaving the room had a late check-out. After roaming the city and calling twice to see if the room was ready, we finally made it to the hotel to check in. We decide to take a nap during which someone walked into our room!!! We called the front desk and they had no clue why someone would be in our room. My husband swears that they didn’t knock as he was awake when it happened. When we stopped by the desk on our way out, they said that it was probably room service checking up on us to see if everything was O.K. Excuse me! If they were checking how things were, why come in when there was no answer at the door (they claim that the person had to have knocked)? Fine. We’ll let this one pass. The following day, we decide to hang the “Do not disturb” sign on the door – as we usually do on short trips – only to find that someone had come in and left bottled water and snacks for our inconvenience from the previous day. I guess they just ignored the sign. Good to know. That same night, a male employee knocked on our door (signed ignored!), and said that he thought he was on the 26th floor. No, sir, this is the 23rd floor, and there is a “Do not disturb” sign on our door. Come on!! Three times in 2 days. We began to think that they had targeted our room to steal our stuff. Paranoid, maybe. Coming back, absolutely not!

As for the location, they’re pushing it when they call it Times Square. It’s a couple of blocks away on a shady street. When you leave the hotel, you have to walk by the parole office where parolees stand in line to get in every morning. You don’t feel safe at all!! So, as soon as you get out, cross the street and walk on that side.

Breakfast is good, but they should get rid of the lounge area (not used other than for breakfast) and replace it with tables and chairs. If you’re going to offer free breakfast, offer enough space for people to eat it.

Let's just say that it was our first and last trip to the Staybridge Suites in "Times Square".

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

This hotel was fairly recently renovated (I travel a lot for work, and I can tell you, the date of last renovation is probably more important than any other single factor in terms of room quality and comfort).

I have stayed here a few times, using points. They were about the cheapest points deal in NYC on the ICH/Priority Club rewards system. The nearby Candlewood is an old and oddly configured building (friendly staff though). This hotel is pristine, with a way better than expected free breakfast, very friendly staff, and VERY updated rooms. The cable TV has real on-demand, not some bogus hotel sales system, the beds are very fresh, and the bathrooms, while small, are immaculate and have a modern design.

They are pet friendly too, although I haven't taken advantage of this. I don't think my dog wants to spend much time in NYC. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I just had a terrible experience at the Times Square Hilton, so I felt obligated to write in about how great my stays here have been after slamming those guys.

I have also stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Times Square, which was a nice experience, but not the same value. Like an idiot (I lived in NYC for 7 years, should have known better), I stayed there on the day before New Year's Eve.
