“beat the queue”
Reviewed 14 February 2012

If there's no tables you queue out on the street even in the cold weather but the Pizzas are excellent, nice salads and pleasant wine... tables are a bit close but you might tune in on an interesting conversation!! well priced with good atmosphere.

“Best Pizza in NY.”
Reviewed 7 February 2012

Keste is the best napoletean pizza in NY. The Reggina Margherita is a must. The wine list has nice itallian chianttis and the Birra Moretti is always cold. Cons: it is a small place, and sometimes You will have to wait for a table outside - and during the NYC winter it is not very pleasant.....

“Good food, a little expensive.”
Reviewed 6 February 2012

The place is not very big - you could walk past it and not even notice. However, the interior is nice and the service was pleasant.

I got the Prosciutto Cotto which is a $15 personal pizza. It was good, a very filling meal. Not sure if it was completely worth the $15 but it's a nice restaurant so that is probably why.

If you like good pizza, you should definitely come here. They have a great selection and all the other dishes looked very good.

“LIFE-CHANGING PIZZA!”
Reviewed 10 January 2012

I was sent to this restaurant by resident New Yorker friends and lo and behold!
This hole in the wall pizzeria is an absolute jewel and a rare find for gourmets.
As soon as you enter, you feel you are in Italy. Davide, the waiter is an absolute character
from Padova while the owner, Roberto, can entice you to try any and all of his veritable Neapolitan pizzas verified and confirmed by the Pizza Association of Napoli in the USA (yes, Virginia, there is such an organization!).
Try ALL of their pizzas and they are ALL outstanding with thin and well-done crust and the freshest of ingredients but you will not find a Napoletana pizza with anchovies! Why?
Well, because what we know around the world as a pizza "Napoletana" with anchovies, is actually NOT how the natives of that fair city eat or offer on their pizzas! They consider anchovies on a pizza a taste from Rome!
But the life-changing pizza experience is when you order and sample their BURRATA !
No tomato paste but plenty of fresh mozzarela cheese, small fresh tomatoes and basil! Absolutely heavenly and to be found nowhere else.
By the way, KESTE is Neapolitan slang for "questo è", or "this is" in English, which is what they said as they threw the pizza on the table back in bella Napoli.
Don't forget to order desert pizza with nutella and powder sugar on top!
Enjoy and your life will be richer for the experience. We feel richer for it!
