NYC has tons of hotels and they all offer different things. AKA is like a home and not a hotel. You can sit by the fire with a glass of wine, read a book in a lovely quiet setting, or recline in a movie house seat and watch anything that Apple TV has to offer.
My husband and I had an extended stay while our apartment was being renovated. Since we live in this neighborhood, we wanted to stay in this neighborhood as it is a great location with fabulous public transportation and an easy walk to many local attractions.
As others wrote, the staff of this hotel is excellent. Anything you need or want is delivered to your room as soon as the request is received. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the gym is great when the weather outside is awful.
Our only disappointment was they were able to heat the pool to 81 degrees which was not quite warm enough for us to swim. Typically it is heated to 86 degrees. However, some folks were hardier that we and they did do their laps!!!
I would tell anyone who asks, this is a terrific place to stay...You can bring your children and even your dog if you have one that you travel with. Everyone is graciously received and feels like they are home.More
