“Wonderful Hotel, Wonderful Staff, Wonderful Breakfast!!”
Reviewed 23 July 2012

Chose this hotel on the suggestions of many NYC travelers. Showed up and was welcomed by a friendly staff that took care of the weary travelers. Our room service was good. Breakfast the next morning was even better. Lots of fresh fruit, fresh pastries and made to order breakfast! My husband is a Diamond member of Hilton, so our breakfast was gratis, but it would be well worth the price to fuel up for a full day of walking and sightseeing.
The room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well! Only problem we had was in the middle of the night the air conditioning would click off. We did not know if there was a motion sensor or something. The elevator was a problem, but not enough to keep us from staying here again.
I also wanted to mention that this hotel is two doors down from the subway and one block away from Broadway and Macy's.
I would stay here again!

My first flaw with the hotel was that rooms are not available until right at or after check-in time. We arrived at 1 p.m. after delayed flights, etc. and were told to check our bags and wait or leave until the room was ready. They took our number and promised to call, but when we finally came back to ask about the room 30 minutes after check-in, the room was ready yet nobody had called..

Besides the so-so staff, the rooms are tiny, but it's a great deal for a weekend trip.

What can be better than a room with the view of the empire state building? I got excited when I was told my room had such a symbolic view. Originally I just booked the regular room which did not have the view. After I completed my booking, I got an email from the hotel asking if I would like to join the eStandby list which would allow me to upgrade my room to the city view room ( the one with the empire state view) for just $9 per day if they were available. So I thought, why not? Turns out, my decision is right!

Speaking of the other aspects of the hotel, the room is relatively small. But given it's in NYC, I guess that's reasonable. After all, we still felt very comfortable. The service is good, the staff are very helpful. And most importantly, it's just less than 1 min walk from the hotel to subway station, 5 min walk to Macy's, 10min walk to Korean town where you can find food. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Stayed at this hotel 15 days - half time with a friend and second part with my mom.
The hotels guest manager and all other staff did everything to make my trip pleasant from beginning until end.
Stayed 2 people in a 2 double bed room on 11th floor for 6 days and on 28th floor for the remaining days. The rooms were equal but the view and "light" in room on 28th floor was of course better. Room size is decent. A big plus for mini refrigirator, microwave and cofee maker.
Location: Very good in the middle of and close to everything, convenient with Subway station with several lines few meters from hotel entrance. Short walking distance to all other subway lines and Penn station.
Staff/Service: +++ Accomodating all requests and providing exceptional customer service. Concierge service is also good and can help with car reservations etc.
Hotel gym: OK for a hotel gym - has got what you need for a workout on the go (cardio or dumbbells), but Manhattan has other regular gyms on every corner so there are no issues finding one close (Crunch gym on 38th street is nice and near by).
Air condition: very good and well functioning for both cold/neutral/hot
Breakfast buffet / food is available at hotel. I did not eat there though. I strolled the breakfast buffet and it looked as any other hotel breakfast buffet. There are so many other choices right outside the door so I did not see a need to eat at hotel.
Cleaning: Nice and tidy, enough towels provided every day and nothing to complain about.
Beds: VERY comfortable, possible to adjust the firmness. Also plenty of different pillows to choose from.
Extras: Morning coffee/tea on-the-go for free in hotel lobby. Very much appreciated!
I will definitely stay at this hotel again!
Thanks Ryan and team!

Hotel is walking distance from Empire State Building, Penn Station/Madison Square Garden, Macys and close to all the subway lines. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the city. It is not a luxury hotel but a confortable and clean one that offers a relatively big room, big beds and soft pillows, and the water pressure in the shower will give you an excellent massage at the end of a long day. Lobby and bar have a friendly atmosphere.

Room Tip: Since NYC is noisy, ask for a room on higher floors if you have sensitive ears.
