“Excellent Hotel in Central Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2012

We stayed this past weekend at the Hilton Garden Inn W35th. Simply, excellent. On arrival we were greeted immediately by the Concierge on duty Thomas Coll and served superbly by the Guest Relations Manager, T. Nascimento. Our room on the 20th floor, was very large and although beside the elevator was very quiet. Bed, was excellent with the ability to make it firmer or softer. Temperature controls worked excellent. There was a small fridge and a microwave. Coffee and tea. Overall an excellent room. Service within the hotel was friendly. All staff we encountered from Housekeeping to Maintenance to Servers in the restaurant always greeted you. Coffee and Tea downstairs was superb. At 5pm there were cookies and again coffee and tea. On departure, Thomas the Concierge, recommended an excellent limo service to take us flawlessly back to Newark Airport. W35th was temporarily blocked at that time due to a large crane in front of the hotel, yet Thomas communicated with the Limo driver as to exactly what time to pick us up and carried our bags to the vehicle. Excellent service Thomas, and thank you. Overall, an excellent stay and my wife and I would highly recommend this very nice hotel totally centrally located next to Macy's and all sorts of other interesting sites.

This hotel has a great location, close to Macy's, near a subway stop and great restaurants nearby.
I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Tammy at the front desk had a great smile and personality. She was extremely helpful with restaurants directions and all kinds of crazy questions I had. Kudos for Tammy.
I was a little annoyed by dirty plates, glasses and garbage bags left on the hallways. I did not want to see mice or something else eating leftover food right next to my room. I called and someone came to remove the plates living everything else behind.
I had a City View room which was ok. My room had a refrigerator and microwave, what I find very convenient. Loved the shower. The only thing missing was a blackout courtain on the bedroom. You might want to consider this if you are planing to sleep late.
Definitely I recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Get a corner room. Small but very quiet.

We grabbed the Hilton Garden Inn on 35th for two nights after looking up its reviews here on TripAdvisor. The price-quality relation is amazing here. I have been to plenty of hotels at double the nightly rate where the bathroom was leaky and falling to pieces and the carpets were dirty. This place is perfectly maintained.

We originally booked a standard King room but were kindly upgraded to a "Room with a view" after asking for a room as high up as possible. The view as great. 24th floor with a great view over downtown Manhattan. Although we were on the street side of the hotel the noise was barely noticeable. Thankfully 35th Street is relatively quite.

In terms of location its perfect for sightseeing. Major attractions like the Empire State Building, TImes Square and Macy's are no more than a few blocks (macy's is across the road!). And there is a subway line right next to the hotel.

I would definitely visit again. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Get up as high as possible. All rooms are close to the elevators but only two on each from are actua...

We stayed here in mid-February of this year for a three-day weekend. The room was decently appointed and a good size for Midtown Manhattan. We could see the Empire State Building from our window. A subway stop serviced by several lines was just down the block. But was REALLY exceptional was the service. Tom, the concierge, became our "new best friend" and made several very helpful recommendations, including the "Penelope" restaurant where we had breakfast on Saturday. "Get there before 9 to avoid the crowds", he said. We got there about 8:45 and were able to sit right down at the bar and order. Sure enough though, 15 minutes later, the crowds appeared! Also, I left a nice pair of Teva sandals under my bed. I called a couple of days later and, sure enough, they had them. Using the billing info they already had, they shipped them to me. (I'm wearing them right now :)

If you're thinking about staying in Midtown I don't see how you could go wrong with staying there!

Really good, central location in midtown Manhattan, next to the subway, Macy's and lots of other shops, easy walking distance to Penn Station. Very clean, comfortable and stylish rooms, good soundproofing (and I'm very sensitive to noise). Helpful and friendly staff, especially Tammy :). Beautiful view of the Empire State Building from the higher floors (from rooms XXX3-8). I would happily stay here again in NYC and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Choose one on a higher floor and with numbers between 3 and 8.
