The presenters well understand intra-family and intra-teen dynamics. The cast and staging are first-rate and the music unobtrusive but excellent.
The whole effect, alas, invoked a sadness about protagonists in no way admirable, just pitiable.
They create fantasy worlds about lives just as empty as the ones they’re actually living. Different, but no better.
