“Always great”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

This is the second time I stayed at the Casablanca, but have recommended this to my friends who have all enjoyed it very much. The staff here are fantastic and the location is amazing. Some of the rooms are quite small. This time around we had a deluxe double and also a mini suite as we are a family of six, and they were great. Having a room overlooking the street means you hear the street noise, but overall this is a great hotel to stay at while in New York.

Breakfast is always nice, and the wine and cheese at night is also a great way to relax after a busy day out.

I'll be back!

One would never guess that John, the manager is one of the guys who could be at the door opening car doors for you. That's one of the things that make this hotel so special, friendly and warm...the people. They make all the difference. I felt at home and safe for 18 nights. Made good friends at the front desk, at the door, Rick's cafe which those girls helping you (always smiling) at breakfast or in the evening (the 5-8 wine, cheese and fruits is delicious at the end of the day). A dream location in a quiet place. The rooms are cozy, spotless clean, the complimentary wi-fi works 24/7. I had friends over for wine one evening and they were amazed that I had found such a place in NYC. My special thanks to Monika who made my life so easy before my trip. I'll be back for sure. To John and everybody else "thank you very much"

I need to complain - I actually had to leave the Casablanca hotel and return home!

Seriously, from the moment we arrived we had the best service possible. The staff are lovely and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. This is true for the bellhops, reception staff and breakfast room staff - all of whom greeted us with a friendly "Hello" every day and were happy to be of service. Whether offering to toast our breakfast bagels (the best bagels I've ever tasted!), pour us a glass of wine or help us when we had to rearrange our flights, the staff at the Casablanca are wonderful.

The hotel itself has the quirky Casablanca theme and is fantastically quiet despite being just a stones throw from the madness that is Times Square. The shower needs a special mention - it was the best I've ever experienced in a hotel (no mould or mildew here!) You have the option to relax in your room (which was a perfect size for us), the lounge (aka "Rick's Cafe") or the Blue Parrot courtyard whenever you need some down time. We didn't have a chance to enjoy Tony di Napoli's restaurant as it was absolutely packed when we went but there are plenty of eateries within a short walking distance of the hotel - this is Times Square after all. On days that we didn't feel particularly hungry the wine and cheese reception was perfect for a small bite to eat and a glass of bubbly to unwind. I wish our stay hadn't been cut short as I'd have liked to express my gratitude to everyone in person for making our stay so enjoyable.

I already miss being at the hotel and hope to return on a future trip to NYC. Thank you Casablanca, you were great!

Located next to Times Square, this is a great hotel for a romantic stay. Ideal place to retract yourself to to have a quick break, or have a (free) drink before heading out for diner. Rooms are small, but not too small.

Breakfast didnt have that many choices, but good enough.

Staff was friendly and helpful.

Would return without hesitation, one of the best hotels I stayed in (not for business). We loved it for its atmosphere (totaly not my style of choice, but here it worked) and location.

Minor issue:
Our Queens room was in the back on floor 4. So no sound issues, but: a bit too warm, no view and a smell of the kitchen next door when you opened the windows (to get fresh air). Which was unfortunate, as it's about the only complaint we had, but very noticeable.

Would also not recommend this hotel for business though: it has no inhouse bar, no desks (guess the suites have), and it breathes 'family' a bit too much.

This was a really wonderful hotel to stay in. We spent a week here and had a brilliant time. The hotel staff were really lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Raymond and the other staff were so helpful giving recommendations for transport and restaurants. Most evenings we enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese reception which was a lovely way to relax after sightseeing and before going out for a show or meal. It was also a nice way to get to know other guests in the hotel.
The rooms were lovely and to a very high standard and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended ....would love to return sometime.
