“A Wonderful Small Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 February 2012

The Frick Collection on Fifth Avenue is only a few blocks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It requies several exhausting days to see everything at the Met, and the effort will leave you suffering from artstic overload. It takes only a few hours to see everything at the Frick--and the quality of the exhibits is remarkable. The highpoint, for me at least, came with Holbein's portraits of Sir Thomas More and Thomas Cromwell, staring at one another across a fireplace. Both loyally served Henry VIII, and both died on the block as a result.

“Three reasons to go”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2012

What I enjoyed about the Frick Collection is that it is like three museums in one. The house itself is stunning and a pleasure to see, as are the furnishings, and of course the art. It's a great way to spend an afternoon.

“Small, but an incredible collection and building.”

It's a very small museum, but both the collection and the building are glorious. I never go to New York without seeing the Frick at least once.

“Favorite art museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2012

We love the Frick House. Even the house is a piece of art! The architecture and feeling of how they lived only adds the ambiance. Interior garden, library, and exceptional art. A "home" in NYC! On Sundays its "pay what you wish" admission, and they also don't allow young children. It is not overwhelming, and you feel very comfortable in the Frick home enjoying their art collection, wondering what it must have been like to live "here" back then.
