Owner description: Grand Central Terminal is the most extraordinary public space in New York City. Opened to the public in 1913, this historic train terminal is a world-famous landmark in Midtown. Its rich history is a story of immense wealth and great engineering. Grand Central is one of the busiest train stations in the world, with approximately 750,000 visitors every day. It is the home of Metro-North Railroad, a subway station, iconic restaurants, shops, and the world's most alluring Apple Store. Some of the highlights to see along your tour of Grand Central include the opal-faced clock, valued at $20 million, above the Information Booth, the Largest Tiffany Glass Clock in the World below the 48-foot, 1500-ton Transportation statue overlooking 42nd Street at Park Avenue, and the mystifying acoustics of the Whispering Gallery in front of the Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Audio and guided tours are available for those with a passion for history. More information regarding tours and ways to plan your visit can be found on the Grand Central Terminal website.

“Wonderful Place”
Reviewed 30 April 2012

I visited Grand Central purely because of how many times I have seen it in the movies and TV over the years and I must admit being a movie lover standing in the main Concourse was quite the experience!

I could see where Mena Suvari and Jason Biggs had been standing in the movie Loser, where Russell Brand and Greta Gerwig had been in Arthur... Hackers, Men in Black, Superman, One Fine Day... so many classic moments and when you walk through here you feel like you are a part of them.

a beautiful building where like most places in new york you can sit and watch the world go by.

“Ate and Shopped!”
Reviewed 29 April 2012

Spent one morning shopping in the terminal and then ate lunch at the food court. Good selection of foods....particularly Juniors. The cheesecake is to die for! Don't forget to visit the "whispering corners'!

Huge hall looking the same as in the movies. Kept very clean though thousands if people pass through all the time.

“What to Expect in a Train Terminal”
Reviewed 28 April 2012

One of the major transportation hubs of NYC. There are several subway lines that stop at Grand Central not to mention the commuter train lines. Expect lots of tourists, commuters and others here. Coming into the great hall after arriving by subway is pretty neat. A building with great character - one of NYC’s treasures. I’ve eaten in the lower level food court. Lots of options to choose from but seating can be limited, especially with a large group.
