Very impressive site. Dedicated park rangers provide free tour. Short movie. A must to get a sense of history and ancient Sonoran desert peoples in Arizona

I had to Stop in a client in Casa Grande and took the 15 mile ride to get there. I loved the history and the old architecture.

Wow! I've lived in this area for over four years and I can't believe it took me that long to see this amazing structure and the area around it. The Ancestral Sonoran People who created this amazing four story structure, the irrigation they were able to engineer in the area, and the art that they were able to create in their free time is mind boggling. They were so smart to create their environment and then have a enough leisure time to live beyond survival to be artistic. George Frey was one of the best storytellers and disseminators of history that I have met in many many years of travel. If you are lucky enough to have this man lead your tour, you have been blessed.

We went to see these ruins with friends when we were in the area. Very interesting 4 story building with very thick walls and other smaller ruins in the vicinity. The guided tour was interesting and informative especially the discussion on the extensive irrigation canals the natives built running hundreds of miles. The interpretive centre was also vey good.

We visited Casa Grande Ruins NM in November. A beautiful sunny day with nice temperatures. The cost is $5 per adult. I can't remember if there was a charge for kids.

This is an excellent archeological and educational stop. The ruin of the "big house" is great considering when it was built. You can't go inside it. There are lots of signs detailing Native life and history in the time.

There is a 20 minute film that runs in the visitor centre I think every half hour. And there are guided Ranger talks. We just toured on our own. Inside the visitor centre are also exhibits detailing life in the Sonoran Desert during this time. The ruins are literally right beside the visitor centre so no amount of walking is required.

We spent about an hour and a half. If this subject interests you it's definitely worth a visit. We are glad we checked it out.

Its just off of Arizona Highway 87 right in the town of Coolidge.
