We spent 2 nights at this hotel for $150 per night. With 7 people in our group, we needed 2 rooms so our bill was $750+!
With this outrageous amount of money we got...2 small rooms with barely enough room to walk around the beds. A continental breakfast that was completely put away by 9:30am on weekends (Would you like to sleep in???). A pool with a max capacity of 13 that was FILLED with bugs but no net to clean them out with. My FAVORITE is this...We returned to our rooms at 3:15 in the afternoon to find that housekeeping had not arrived. At 3:30, after we had people in the showers, she showed up. The next morning (check-out morning) she shows up at 9:30am.
I am NOT a happy camper :/

Room Tip: Make sure to call in the morning for housekeeping service...They'll forget all about you!

We were trying to find a decent hotel near Carlsbad Caverns. This was at the end of town you leave to head towards the Caverns. The room was average, a little crowded for the four of us. The bathroom was bigger than some hotels we stayed at since it was designed for a wheelchair, but how would it get in the bedroom area? The breakfast area was way too small for the number of people it had to service. There was little room to fix your coffee without feeling like people were lining up behind you. The pool was tiny, but had a hot tub. They "steamed" cleaned the carpet outside our room and the hallway was stinky for awhile, what did they do? Use old water? Newer decor in lobby and rooms. It was just average, OK.

Room Tip: Don't eat at the IHOP, try the No Whiner Diner.

Thank You for staying with us. Sorry about the smell of the carpet but when the carpet is wet there is alittle smell until the carpet dries.

This hotel is similar to other Fairfield Marriotts. The rate was on the high end compared to other Fairfields in NM. We payed $150 a night for a double queen room at the discounted AAA rate. The room was clean. Service was standard. We were told that there were no rooms on the upper floors, so our room was on the first floor near the road- kinda noisy. Other hotels on the strip seem to be lower value and with the pull from Carlsbad Caverns, they probably are at capacity most of the time without doing anything special, so they don't.

Room Tip: Request in advance a room on a higher floor away from the road. However, we were told that none exis...

This was a great place to stay while I was in Carlsbad. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly. The Hotel has a pool, and I was told that there is a workout room as well. While in Carlsbad we found that there is not much in the ways of hotels because of the oil and gas business that is going on there right now. This was one of the only hotels that had a vacancy on a Wednesday night if that tell you anything. There is Wal-Mart next door as well as IHOP for breakfast. Carlsbad is not that big, so you can walk to everything. However, I would want a ride if I was going to check out the downtown area. I will most likely stay here agian if I here on business, or pleasure.

Stayed in this hotel for a trip to the caverns. Rooms were clean enough although there was a weird smell in our rooms. We had two rooms on the first floor. King rooms here are small, but okay if you just need a god night sleep. Pool looked nice but we were not able to take advantage of it. Staff/Management was great! They helped me with a very odd reservation situation and they went above and beyond! Staff was great, everything else was okay. Compared to other places in town however, this place is recommended.
