“Worst hotel I have ever stayed at.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! the website is EXTREMELY deceiving. The rooms look nothing like the pictures. We walked into the first room we had to sugar spilt on the night stand and bugs. Like the room hadn't been cleaned. Not to mention the room looked like something out of a low budget 70's horror movie. We immediately went to see if they had any rooms we could upgrade to. We wanted to leave and find another hotel but we were on a tight time line and had a prior engagement that evening we had to get ready for. The "newly"renovated rooms consisted of newer carpet and the bathroom had been updated (years ago). It was better than the first room and didnt see any bugs in this one. It was still nothing like the pictures on the website. We checked out first thing the next morning. Still cost over $200 dollars for that one night. NEVER AGAIN!!! Can't believe people actually pay that price for these rooms. We ended up getting a suite at a very nice and CLEAN hotel down the street for a lot cheaper than the rooms here. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

mixed up our reservations....staff uniterested and unfriendly....updated rooms are nice but come one dont update a room then leave a 2 inch well used matress on a hideabed. The room we finally got was ocean front. Which is what re requested, Well worn furniture black stains on the celing needed painted BAD. Mid afternoon on our next to last day a shining star at the front desk...Anne.....get her ..a good portion of your attitude changes about this place but not enough to stay here again. I wasnt expecting Ritz Carlton at these prices but they werent much better then a Holiday Inn. I would not stay nor recommend to anyone

Room Tip: Stay in their updated mini suites of there are only 2 people do not hate anyone enough to allow them...

You must get one of the rooms with lake view and direct access to beach in the front. But they are all pretty run down and kind of old. The rooms are kind of smelly. But view is great and location is good. Guests can get a ride of the sternwheeler boat in mission bay to Catamaran Hotel, which is a sister hotel and a prettier sister. Recommend Catamaran instead.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. the rooms were kept very clean. Standard rooms not much outside light. the pool was great the hot tub was great. The morning buffet was great, service was hit and miss depending who you got. only ate one evening meal. the lounge everyone was great. it would have been nice if they had close the doors on cool nights. Everyone was very friendly, and helpful. great advise for thing to do. some renovations it was very professional grounds kept very nice. i will probably go back. the boat trip around the bay was nice, free to quests. great location. I know it was an attraction the seals at the hotel but it was nice to see them taking care of injured seals.
there was a taxi driver working out of the hotel the drivers name was Ray we used him for about 5 days everything he suggested was great. it worth it to use him. very friendly

Room Tip: I don't think i would go for a standard room again.

I stayed at Bahia for one night on March 28. I have stayed numerous times before and it has become my favorite place to stay in San Diego because it is at a nice crossroads of convenience and peace. Traffic is never a problem getting to or from Bahia and it is close enough to the city and airport that I can get to all my appointments quickly. I was laughing on this visit because when I entered my ground floor room, the sliding glass door was so clean, I first thought it was open and I walked over to shut it. I felt dumb when I realized it was actually shut and locked. Keep up the good work Bahia crew.
