Owner description: Located in downtown San Diego, the USS Midway (Museum) was America’s longest-serving aircraft carrier of the 20th century. Today, the interactive museum is an unforgettable adventure for the entire family as guests walk in the footsteps of the 225,000 young men who served on Midway. Visitors explore a floating city at sea, the amazing flight deck and its 29 restored aircraft, flight simulators, and are inspired in the Battle of Midway Theater, included with admission. Admission also includes a self-guided audio tour narrated by Midway sailors in English, Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese, French and German. Visiting Midway is a once-in-a-lifetime experience in San Diego, known around the world as "Navy Town, USA."

I took my 2 teenage kids to this one, it's a pricey ticket but how often are you gonna see something like this unless you are Navy?! My daughter wasn't as impressed with it as my son and myself was. I would have liked to have seen more of the ship, you are limited to where you can go and see. The airplane displays were cool, gave you a chance to sit in the cockpits to see all the switches, gauges and dials! I enjoyed it, it was fun!

A must see while in San Diego. The guests are entertained and welcomed by volunteers who wear yellow hats and who have a lot of knowledge about the ship and it's service. What was surprising was the number of other guests visiting the ship from other parts of the world as we gathered by the many languages we heard spoken as we toured the ship. The self guided tour was easy to use and had bountiful information of all the things we were looking at. The ship also has a great gift shop and food in the restaurant was excellent. We never had to leave the ship in 6 hours of touring. Get there early and plan on spending the day plus it's one of the best places to see the harbor. A great museum and that was not boring and they even had aircraft simulators to fly for a fee.

Fantastic. With the headphones you can take your own time plus there's veteran volunteers dotted around and they are really helpful.
Great photos and captions all around the ship. Great sense of history.

We spent only 1 hour there because we had only three days to visit the city, but you can stay more and more. The museum is on an old war aircraft carrier and it's interesting, we followed the audio tour to visit the entire aircraft. On the top of the aircraft there are loads of old fighter plans and on some of them you can go up to visit and take pictures There is a little shop but we didn't find anything interesting.
