“Not bad, but not great, too.”
Reviewed 11 March 2012

Of all the "Mexican" restaurants we tried during our two week visit to San Diego, this one turned out to be the best, which disappoints me. I finally found out the best real Mexican food is served at the suspect fast food type joints like Adalberto's in Point Loma. But of all the sitdown full service Mexican restaurants, this one was the best. My chicken burrito was fresh and delicious. I thought it was best to request no cheese and it was still moist and tasty. Overall, pretty good.

“Best Mexican food”
Reviewed 10 March 2012

Best Mexican food, music, environment, ever. The Mexican ambiance makes it feel like if you are in Mexico without crossing the border. Nothing wrong with thatmind you.

“Very popular Mex place in Old Town.”
Reviewed 6 March 2012

The Mexican food is very good. This is a large restaurant with much seating inside and out.
A popular patio with plants, and umbrellas. Very attractuve, Inside is large with a coupleof levels and two or three sections with plants and Mexican tile and a wandering guitarist who has to spread himself pretty thin.
There are many popular Mexican restaurants in the area and this one holds its own with the competition. Service is efficient and ample parking out back.

“Disgusting”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

Twice I have been here and both times I thought the food was disgusting. It is not Mexican, it is the fatty American enriched version. If you want a bunch of artificial melted cheese all over everything then you might like this place, otherwise, try Ranchos in North Park or one of the various taco shops that look suspect and you'll be guarenteed a better food experience.
