We stopped here on our trip while in San Diego. We loved the statue of the sailor & the nurse.....very beautiful!! We enjoyed walking around and looking at the ships and seeing some of the people playing music as well as the little shops.

The yachts fill the Marina and a walk along the Embarcadero is the best vantage point to appreciate how grand these craft are. Benches line the Embarcadero walk and the welcome breezes are refreshing. Access the Embarcadero from the backside of the Convention Center. The Ferry also has an embarkation location here.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt and all this is an easy walk from the hotel. Cruise ships, ferries, plenty of boats, and a few famous ships here.

Major attraction is the aircraft carrier USS Midway. It’s close to the main railway station Santa Fe, should you need to use the train.

There is definitely plenty to see and do in this waterfront area. There are nice walkways, benches, places to eat, museums and small touristy booths. It is a great place to take a stroll and take in the sights of downtown San Diego. Visit the Midway Museum, see the Embracing Peace statue, visit the Maritime Museum to see the old ships or just enjoy people-watching. Nice place to spend a few hours.

Walking allows you to experience the entire area, watch the ships and enjoy the sun and water. Lots of things to see and do and places to eat.
