Spontaneous, extended weekend getaway for 5. Condo was perfect for sharing space. Location offers tons of great amenities. Pool, hot tub, fitness center, roof top lounge, gas fire pits, all are very well groomed and clean. SUPER dog friendly, which is fun for dog lovers. Be prepared to walk a few hallways with your luggage during the check in process. But once in, we were right off an elevator to the pool or out the door. Ubered to zoo, harbor, nightclubs: total bill $59.01. NO need for a car rental unless you are a day trip person who wants to go beyond the immediate sights. Super little Mexican restaurant on across the street. Mega grocery store around the corner with decent prices on booze, beer, meats, snacks, etc. San Diego has quite a homeless population. You will see some less fortunate souls in the area. However, we did not have one incident of panhandling, nor did we feel uncomfortable at any time. This is our second booking with Stay Alfred. We are looking at their rentals in New Orleans for next year. Good company to work with.
The apartment looked just like the pictures. Plenty of room for 7 people. The pool area was very nice and the roof deck was a perfect oasis. The other tenants in the build were very nice and we enjoyed all the dogs that live in the building. The neighborhood was a little rough. There is a lot of construction happening so there is some noise from that. There is also a lot of homeless people living on the streets. Coming from San Francisco it wasn't surprising but for some of the people staying with us it was unwelcome. Very walk-able to everything that you need and close to the light rail line.
It was so nice to have the space for our group- 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, however, there is room for improvement. The rug at the kitchen table had an edge in the walkway that turned up and was a tripping hazard. There were door handles in the master bedroom and bath that needed tightened. The kitchen was lacking some basic cooking items, like a mixing bowl and griddle. The layout and space was nice, but some minor improvements would make it even better! The cleaning fee seemed very high too as it likely wouldn't take very long to clean the apartment.
Check in was kind of sketchy at first but if you read & follow the instructions, you'll be fine. The place was really clean. Had everything you need, even a full equipped kitchen. Only downside, neighbors upstairs were being loud and kept stomping they the whole night. Plus there's lots of homeless people on the streets... other than that it was a lovely stay. I would definitely come back.
We are happy to decided for this appartment instead of hotel for our 6 night stay in San Diego. Appartment is very large and perfectly equiped (kitchen, ironing tools, towels) in good position. The fitness center is included with great machines. Pool is OK and the Hot Tub was a great relaxing for evening after whole day work. Only they should change water more often insted of adding chemistry. First 2 days the water in hot tub was OK, but then you can smell huge smell and feel also chemisty in you eyes - very very bad !! My recommendation is also to add into appartment more tablettes for diswhasher cleaner and some tips for food delivery service. Other thing is that from appartment above us you can here to much the steps and noise - not good soundproofing. Also benefit would be more keys than 2 for 6-people appartment! In general we were very satisfied. Jiri
