We stayed for five nights during Spring Break. Check in was quick and straightforward. It was immediately followed up by a text message asking if we needed anything. We used texting to communicate the one and only issue we had which was that while we were out one day someone changed the thermostat and we came back to a very cold room. They were responsive and ensured we had no further issues. Nice facility in a nice location.

Make sure to read about this hotel before staying. There wasn't a fridge or microwave in the hotel room. What we thought was a beautiful view of the bridge ended up being a front row seat to the DOLE fruit factory. Everything is super expensive! It was double what it should have been. $20 for a small bottle of sunscreen in the store and $20 for an omelet in the restaurant.

We stayed here for one night before attending Opening Day for the San Diego Padres. This was also Spring Break for many families, so it was understandably busy. The lines to check in were extremely long and slow, without any people added to process the people, and no signage on which lines were for check-in. The Hilton Honors line was huge, while people were quickly processed in the unmarked line nearby. We are sensitive about this, because we had the same problem at the Hilton in Niagara Falls...an awful introduction to an otherwise well-appointed hotel.
The view from our well-appointed room was very nice, with quick elevator service, and very quiet rooms. We walked into the Gaslamp Quarter for dinner, and enjoyed our breakfast in the hotel with a very attentive waitress. The processing of our adjacent parking was handled very well, since we remained there over 24 hours to attend the Padres game. All in all, a very nice hotel except for an inefficient front desk.

Room Tip: They charge more for Coronado / Sunset view rooms, but the rooms on the opposite side are just as interesting from a view standpoint.

We absolutely loved our stay here in San Diego at the Hilton. What a beautiful location. Close to everything and easy access. Wonderful hotel service. The exercise room was also spacious and had everything you need to have a great workout. In addition, there is a very nice boardwalk next to the waterfront that is excellent for walking, biking or running. My only complaint is that there are not enough pool chairs by the pool.

Loved the pool. Beautiful view of the waterfront from the pool deck, two hot tubs and a fun slide for the kids. It was only 4 feet deep so great for beginning swimmers. The rooms were spacious and clean. Want to give a specail \mention Antonio, who was the Omlette chef a the Vela restaurant, who went out of his way to make me a non-dairly Omlette since I'm lactose intolerant. It was delicious and was the highlighte of my brunch 3 days in a row! The hotel is also 5 minutes walk from the Gaslamp Quarter - with restaurants and pubs and 5 minutes away walk from the Coronado Island ferry!
