“Fun in Boston”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2012

Took a trip to Boston to celebrate a friends birthday and see some sights. Stayed at the Colonnade Hotel, they were amazing, so friendly and nice, I'd recommend anyone to stay there. Great service, great food and just an overall fantastic experience.

First time we had been the america and had no problems with this hotel which was in a good location for transport and near the prudential center. Hotel room was a good size and was quiet our room was on the back of the hotel. Breakfast not included in the price had breakfast one day in Jo's brasserie which was also nice but would have been expensive if we had used every morning. Liked the roof terrace/pool area great place to go and rest late afternoon after sightseeing around Boston. Went to the Cheescake Factory restaurant which was opposite for 2 meals enjoyed these and there was a good choice on the menu, the portions were huge and we could not always finish the meal but did enjoy!!!

We spent our first night in Boston here before heading off to Maine for my nephew's wedding.
Our room on the 3rd floor was very comfortable and spotless .
The staff were very friendly and helpful especially a young woman from Cork , Ireland whose name I didn't get.
My son said that his bed was the most comfortable bed that he has ever slept in !

Handy for public transport ( we travelled the T a lot while we were there ) and just across the street from a large shopping mall where we went for breakfast .

Tried to book in here again for our last night but sadly it was fully booked. Didn't get the chance to try the pool , but it looked gorgeous !

would definately recommend and use again

Had a great girls' weekend in Boston and stayed at the Colonnade Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with suggesting restaurants, bars, and sites to visit around Boston. The rooftop pool is adorable...small, but adorable. It's popular, but we were always able to find seats. The gym is extremely clean, has plenty of treadmills and ellipse machines (not too many bikes, though), as well as free weights. There is also a bowl of crisp, shiny apples for after your workout--a nice touch, Colonnade! The room was the perfect size, with comfortable beds and a large bathroom. The hotel is in an EXCELLENT location just steps away from the T, Copley Place, and Newbury Street, and easily walkable to Little Italy, SoWa, Faneuil Hall, and many other sites. I highly recommend this hotel!

We arrived at mid-day on a Sunday at a busy check-in/check-out time, which perhaps explains the offhand attitude of the reception desk staff. Still, not the best welcome to a hotel, although the situation was recovered by Sheb (concierge) who could not have been more helpful. As there was no room available we went for lunch, and at 1.30 were allocated our luxe room on the 9th floor overlooking the rear of the hotel. Whilst not especially spacious, the room appeared so with its floor-to-ceiling windows and light furniture and fittings. Fully equipped and including minibar (I declined the offer of the key), coffee maker (excellent), and wall safe (essential in a city), everything was in good order if not pristine. Beds were large and comfortable, and the bathroom was fully equipped but again not overly spacious, but with a very good over-bath shower which lacked only grabrails. Good wifi is available at the eyewatering price if $15 a day, but if you join the 'I Prefer' scheme the charge is deducted at check-out. We took breakfast in the restaurant, and the service was very good if a little slow. The hotel is very well located for seeing Boston, with the T station by the front door.

This was the last stay of our 2012 America holiday, covering over 3 weeks and 9 hotels. We researched all our hotels before booking taking particular note of reveiws on TA, and it is to the immense credit of the contributors on here that we didn't have a single problem. Thank you, everyone.
