The location of this hotel is fantastic - close to Fanueil Hall, Quincy Market, airport and the T. You can get anywhere from here very easily. The only negative is that the rooms are very small. If your there for pleasure it really doesn't matter because you are only in your room to sleep.

Room Tip: Ask for the bed upgrade - they are so comfy!

I stayed with my family here for 2 nights last week for my graduation from grad school. Overall, I would fully recommend this hotel, but here are my pros and cons:

Pros:
1) Location: It's less than a 5 minute walk to 4 different T (subway) stops, making it convenient for getting all around town. Plus it's right on the Freedom Trail and historically significant in its own right.
2) Service: All the hotel staff we encountered from the bell men to the front desk staff to the housekeepers were remarkably friendly and helpful. In a city like Boston which is not particularly known for friendliness, I really appreciated this. Just two examples: after checking in, we were taking a picture in the hotel's lobby. The man who I believe was the manager on duty came over and offered to take it for us. The next day, as my sister and I were trying to catch an elevator while loaded down with shopping bags, the manager on duty that day (a different man) jumped into the path of a closing elevator door to hold it for us.
3) Beautiful historic decor: gorgeous chandeliers, carpets, pineapples carved into the bedposts, really lovely.

Cons:
1) Small rooms: our room with two double beds in it left very little room for maneuvering once we opened our suitcases. Not a big deal if you aren't planning to spend a lot of time in the room, or if you're just one person.

2) Tiny closet: the closet had a safe and ironing board in it, leaving no room to hang up a long dress (or in my case a graduation gown).

3) No vent in bathroom, clogged shower drain (so water accumulated up to about the ankles during a shower), and peeling bathroom ceiling. While the bathroom was spotless, these issues made it less appealing.

4) Thin walls: there was a connecting door between our room and the next one, so maybe that wall is thinner than the standard, but we could hear our neighbors' full conversations. I'd also like to mention that there was a note in the room explaining that guests should expect to hear street noise in their rooms, suggesting that people may often complain about it, but we had no issues at all with street noise.

As I said at the beginning though, overall we had a very pleasant stay at the Omni, and when I return to Boston in the future I would stay there again, primarily because of the service, location, and lovely historic decor.

The Omni Parker House is a beautiful historic hotel that has been updated and refurbished. The age of the hotel is well documented in the lobby with historic artifacts and signatures of important people in American History. Yes, the Freedom Trail is right on the sidewalk and you are across the street from Kings Chapel and the burial ground of Paul Revere, Mother Goose, and Sam Adams. That was convenient and wonderful. It is also a very short walk to Boston Commons. The restaurant is really the only convenient dining downtown on the weekend and it is expensive. The food is very good and has choices for all ages however, if you are a foodie, just get the Boston Cream Pie. Of course, the Parker House rolls were every bit as white and fluffy as they should be when made by the inventors of the recipe, but we prefer to eat whole grains these days. My only real disappointment was that the suite we rented was supposed to have a private bedroom and a pullout couch for our son. The "private" bedroom had no door! Because the rooms are historic, they are small and there was a direct view onto the bed from the couch. There is no privacy. Other than that, the rooms were comfortable, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows were good. We all had a good night's sleep and woke up rested to explore the city. You won't go wrong if you understand the minuses because the pluses are good!

Room Tip: Ask for specials. Some people got a free breakfast in the dining room, we got a big reduction in ou...

I would stay here again! The oldest continuosly running hotel in the nation! This historic hotel is still beautiful and very well taken care of. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed for a week and loved the location. It is in the midst of the "Freedom Trail" and a short walk away from Quincy Market, historic landmarks, the North end, Cheers and more. We walked everywhere!

This is no big-box hotel. It has location and elegance, and you'll pay for both. But at least once in your life, it's SO worth it. Do it for a big anniversary. "Have a Roll with Honey", as the old motto said. You can get those famous Parker House rolls here, and the Original Boston Cream Pie, invented right here.

Ours was a corner room, small and most ideal for a singe person or a cozy couple. Queen size pillow-top bed (we prefer something not so pillowy, but that's us), great view of the old City Hall (5th floor). The room was excellently appointed, but the outlets for your computer may be hard to reach. The bathroom was clean and elegant but very tiny. There was no bar on the tub wall for balance security, so I do not recommend this room to someone very elderly or unsteady on his/her feet. Soap, shampoo, hair dryer, lotion all provided.

You can get a carafe of fresh-brewed coffee delivered to your door at the time of your choice. Real cream included. Newspaper also delivered. WiFi, of course. Telly and fridge in room, along with $7 bottles of water (!!). The rooms are very quiet, even on the street side.

The windows can be opened! if only 5"... We delighted to smell the sea air during the night.

Two blocks to the Park Street T stop gets you anywhere you need to be. This is the hotel your parents bragged about staying in when they were newlyweds. A wonderful experience.
