“Fantastic hosts.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 October 2011

This B & B is situated in the south end of the city but you can easily walk into Boston in about 15-20 minutes, (however not sure I would want to do that after dark). James and Dympna are super friendly and provide fantastic breakfasts and conversation.

I go to Boston once or twice a year and have now stayed at Aisling several times. James and Dympna are really lovely hosts who make you feel right at home. The bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are extremely clean, very comfortable, quiet and private (they are downstairs by themselves so there aren't people walking by your door). The guest kitchen (right next to these rooms) is also very handy. The breakfasts are delicious -- once I had Dympna's home-made soda bread which was a real treat!

Dympna and James provided a wonderful base for our first trip to Boston. The pickup from the airport is a special treat in a new city, as well as the dropoff back at the airport. They provided for a great experience in a brownstone, central to all the activities and transportation. The best part was getting up to the amazing breakfasts with intricately prepared fresh egg dishes, bread and fruit. We had wonderful conversations around the dining table every morning. It was hard leaving our new found friends.
We also appreciate all the help with great local restaurants, sightseeing musts and entertainment options. The comfortable rooms on the second floor for a family sharing the bathroom were very large and beautifully decorated. Or when not staying with family, the bathroom is private. Another requirement that met our expectations were the showers. The renovation was very well done. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to our return.

Organised our stay well in advance (honeymoon tour) and elected to stay here on our first and last nights in New England.

Dympna collected us from the airport, offered wise counsel about the traffic, and made sure we settled in comfortably.

Breakfasts were fantastic - get the homemade granola recipe (we forgot).

Overall a delight and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Nice place to stay in Boston when you want it low key and quiet, but still central enough for sight-seeing and shopping. Slightly on the expensive side. Room clean enough and small guest kitchen a nice touch. Complementary wifi. Bed wasn’t very comfortable and not enough space in the room for our 2 big suitcases. Breakfast ok, but nothing special and family style setting not good for B-people who preferto enjoy their first cup of coffee in the morning in silence. Entrance under the main stairs gave the impression of living in a basement. Area in general feels a bit shabby, but street and house very nice. Very friendly and helpful owner. However, we found some of the information provided to be somewhat imprecise - best to double-check. Very nice restaurants in the area. We would go back.
