Two things took us to Charlie's: first I wanted a Reuben, and this came up first in my Google search (good reviews, and said to be 'possibly the best Reuben in Boston'); and second, it is over the road from our primary tourist destination for the day, the Harriet Tubman park and memorial. Such serendipity. Charlie's is an old school diner, with great atmosphere and a wonderful selection of classic dishes - suitable for breakfast or lunch. My Reuben was very tasty (not the best I've had, but more than acceptable). My companion had a very good Caesar salad. Bottomless coffee, service friendly and effective. The Mexican? manager has added some great Central American options to the classic US diner fare. Excellent place, could hardly recommend more highly.
