“Great location, beautiful hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2012

The headline says it all. The location is great, very close to subways (Copley) and a vibrant dining/bar area. Front desk and valet staff were nice and very helpful. Considering the town, the room is large (my corner room was large by any standard). It was even a very cheap $30-$40 cab ride from the airport. As a bonus, there is a waiting/meeting area adjacent to the lobby, which is a great place to meet colleagues or clients if you are traveling for business and family members if you are traveling in a group. Free, easy, and most importantly functional WiFi. One of the slats in the bathroom window was broken off at the end, but other than that, the stay was impeccable for a my needs.

Room Tip: The x05 rooms are on the corner and have a great view. Stayed on the 7th floor (705) and wasn't...

Stayed here to attend a game at Fenway. Short walk to the park - very easy to find and get to. The staff was friendly - the hotel room itself was nothing special but the location made up for it. Tons of restaurants/bars and shopping near by - Duck boats and other touristy things close by too. The parking lot across the street is under construction but you are able to park there for $39/day if parked the whole day. We were warned if we were going to be using the car during the day, we would be charged the hourly rate every time the car went out - the hotel valet service is available and would be a better option for this. We had to go in and out via the entrance/exit for the cars (beware of incoming or outgoing traffic) while toting luggage but it wasn't a problem.

First the good points.. Very good staff, room is large, clean and well appointed, great bathroom, hotel location is great, parking right across street in garage. Easy to get to, right off of exit 22 on route 90. Here are my negatives.. Do NOT stay on the 2nd floor or in the front of this hotel for that matter if you need quiet. MAJOR construction going on right on the street. Very loud and guaranteed to wake you up! Also our tv did not work, kept "losing signal". I would stay here agin IF I was guaranteed a different section of the hotel away from the construction zone.

Stayed here a couple of times. The rooms are large enough and well appointed. The location is great. You can walk to Fenway Park, shopping, the river, or Boston Commons. A subway stop is two blocks away. The cost tends to be cheaper than the larger hotels that are nearby; Westin, Marriott, Sheraton. The staff is attentive and provide prompt service. I would avoid the breakfast. It is definitely not worth the price. There is an Au Bon Pain a block away as well as other quality diners.

I have stayed here twice when I have been in the Boston area for work.

While the rooms aren't large,I actually prefer the property and location over either the Courtyard Tremont on the full service Marriott Copley.

Staff seems well trained and friendly ... I like the Sam Adams tasting hour on TUesday nights as well. Location is great given your are so close to Boylston and Newbury.

My only little wish was that the rooms and kept some of the history feeling of the 1920s or older era building but doubt this was possible due to the condition of the bundling before Marriott converted it.
