“Awesome!”
Reviewed 12 September 2011

Wish we were able to stay here longer as we only stayed 1 night in the Sea Turtle suite. The experience of getting there from Logan Airport was simple, relaxing and surpringly fun. We loved the room, super comfortable beds which I later found out are custom made- great for those with bad backs. Plenty of complimentary snacks and drinks. It felt very luxurious inside and the gentle rocking was perfect sleeping conditions. We felt the owners make the stay unforgettable as they are really great people to talk to. There is tavern on the water 2 piers down, which is about a 5 minute walk away. We will without a doubt be back here someday soon.

We stayed at Green Turtle on the 4th and 5th Sept 2011. We had read all the previous good reviews but we were still knocked out by just how great a place it is. Hopefully we will be back in Boston next year and this is where we aim to stay. Extremely comfortable and well kitted out.
From airport we took free shuttle bus(No 66) to the dockside; then got a water taxi which took us directly across Boston bay right up to the pontoon where Green Turtle is situated.
To sit and watch the Boston skyline whilst eating a beautifully prepared breakfast, you can't beat it. Also at night the view across the bay was super. Local eateries:- lunchtime Tavern on the Water is good, and for an evening meal Navy Yard Bistro is great. Both only about 5 minutes walk away.
Karen and Jon are No 1 hosts, so friendly and welcoming.Thank you both for a fantastic visit.

Room Tip: Two rooms available, both the same, both great.

The Green Turtle offers affordability with out sacrificing comfort & service. Jon & Karen were fabulous hosts! As soon as we arrived, they made us feel at home. There were 4 of us and we had booked the two rooms, both are identicle, with only slight variations in decor. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom good size for a house boat with an oversized shower. Don't bother to bring soap, shampoo, conditioner or hairdryer.. it's all there. In addition, there is cable tv, air conditioning, snacks & drinks. Jon was even kind enough to deliver additional ice for drinks on the dock during the evening.

We took the $1.75 water shuttle to Rowes Wharf and took a 15 minute stroll to the North End for dinner. Just keep in mind, the shuttle shuts down around 8:15 in the evening. Heading back, we grabbed a taxi which cost under $10.

Relaxing. But nice to be only 15 minutes from the action of Boston if you choose. Karen made us a great breakfast (of our choice) and delivered at the time we desired. the Green Turtle is a great take and once you stay here, you'll be hooked. Planning on another trip next year!

Room Tip: The rooms are set up so that the bathrooms & common space provide a buffer of privacy between th...

WOW, what a unique experience!! The room was equipped with all of the necessary amenities and was extremely comfortable. It was very peaceful and relaxing waking up with the water lapping along with the gentle swaying of the inn. The breakfasts are hot, homemade and delicious. Jon and Karen are gracious and knowledgeable hosts. They are passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated to making sure your stay is great. The most direct and fun way to get to the inn is by water taxi from the airport. We will definitely stay here every time we are in Boston.

Are you looking for a perfect place to relax and have a romantic getaway?
Are you used to high quality and excellent service? Are you looking for a great home base from which to expore Boston? If you are looking for any of these things I encourage you to stay at The Green Turtle.

The Inn
The Green Turtle Inn is basically a luxury houseboat that is tied to a floating dock.
The unit is the size of a large hotel room and is fully self contained so you have lots of privacy. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud and with feather pillows and luxurious duvet.
You will have the best sleep ever as the waves gently rock you to sleep. There is a tv, great wireless connection and air conditioning. The shower is large and has great water pressure. Everything is tasteful and of high quality.

The Location
We had never been to Boston and had read that the Green Turtle is a bit out of the way.
We had not trouble navigating around Boston from here and were quite happy to be in a more serene location at the end of a busy day in the city.
The inn is nestled among million dollar yachts and condos. There is a gorgeous boardwalk that will take you all the way downtown. There is an amazing restaurant just five minutes from the inn. Navy Yard Bistro.
if you need to get somewhere quickly, the water taxi is very convenient and cheap( $1.75 ea.) . Jon and Karen also pointed out a free shuttle that will take you to the subway system.
You are steps away from the U.S. Constitution so most every tour trolly stops in this neighbourhood.
I don't think we woud have experienced the Boston Harbour to its full extent had we stayed somewhere else.

The Service
Jon and Karen are great. They are fun and casual without being instrusive.
At the end of the day we would sit on the deck chairs with a drink and watch the sun go down while Jon and karen fished. They have great stories and enjoy a good laugh.
Every morning they whipped up an amazing breakfast. they kept the room fully stocked at all times wtih juice, drinks, munchies, milk and granola. Even when we had to leave at 6am Karen and jon were ready with a breakfast and helped us carry our bags to the taxi.
They are very cool and lots of fun.

This was the first trip that my husband and I had had alone in 7 years. It turned out perfectly. The Green Turtle set the tone for a peaceful, casual and unique experience.

I wish Jon and Karen all the best and i encourage all of you to go down there and hang wtih them for a while. You won't regret it.
