beautiful old hotel, wonderfully maintained and updated, as with most hotels like this the bathrooms are small, but the rooms are spacious, it was clean, service personnel were pleasant and engaging, reasonable price, located close to Prudential Center and many fine restaurants and shops, A/C was a bit noisy

The Lenox bills itself as a boutique hotel. The bars and restaurants are nice and the staff is very helpful. But the rooms are terrible outdated. The real downside is the climate control. My room was sweltering, and when I put the A/C on, it sounded like a plane was about to touch down in my room. So my choices were sleep in a hot room or no sleep at all because of the deafening noise. When I mentioned this to the front desk clerk in the morning, she was very apologetic and offered to get me breakfast. There also aren't enough outlets -- which made ironing very tough. And the bathroom is tiny.

Booked a Junior Suite for self, husband and adult son, for 5 night stay to celebrate retirement (husband) and graduation (son). Had requested high floor in quiet area and this was provided.Plenty of space for the 3 of us. The staff were friendly without being 'gushing' and over the top (sometimes a problem for us conservative Brits!) - the hotel was clean, quiet (no noise at all from neighbours) and felt safe. Shaws Supermarket, just round the corner, is great for stocking the fridge with beer (essential in the 90 degrees we encountered!) as well as the usual snacks and little extras. Nice touch was the complimentary basket containing wine, chocs and snacks that arrived a few hours after checking in, with a lovely card from the staff, to help us with our celebration.
In addition to this fab hotel, we would recommend the Harpoon Brewery Tasting sessions and the Fenway Park Stadium Tour - even if you are not a baseball fan,

Room Tip: Junior Suites seem to be corner rooms - extra space and lots of light

Great hotel that is very central. Close to most of the tour routes. Rooms comfy and stylish. Reception and overal staff helpful and friendly. Hotel restaurant and bar good modern food. Great Irish bar attached. Worth staying in as part of a short visit. Reasonable on line deals.

Room Tip: Rooms on two sides front roads. No real noise problem 9as winter) but f summer and windows open then...
