“Excellent Hotel!”
Reviewed 24 June 2012

I had an extended stay at the Copley Square Hotel, and the Hotel is excellent. The hotel has a great and friendly staff which made my stay feel like home. The wine social at 5:00PM was a wonderful way to relax after a long day at the office or shopping or sight seeing at the many attractions from the Prudential Center to Newbury Street to the South End with it Victorian Bowfront Rowhouses. It is situated in the heart of Boston' s Back Bay neighborhood, centered close to Copley Square with the iconic glass and steel minimalist John Hancock Tower, Trinity Church, Old South Church and Boston Public Library. All are in walking distance and the architecture is stunning! Restaurants, entertainment, bars, etc are easy accessible. I do recommend that you eat at Exhale in the hotel. It has an excellent decor, food is tasty and excellent, and the staff wonderful. I also enjoyed the Minibar whether dining inside the bar or having drinks or eating outside. When the windows are open you get a great street experience. Overall the hotel has a European feel, relaxed and elegant. The rooms are well appointed and decor excellent. I do recommend it as a great place to stay while visiting Boston.

This is a beautifully furnished historic boutique hotel alternative to the surrounding giants. I had meetings down the street at the Fairmont, which didn't have decent accommodations for us and our two young adult sons (double beds, not queen, in their double rooms). At the Copley square we got a two room suite with two king beds. The room was pretty, but the tiny bathroom reminded me of those you see in RV's, the bathroom door didn't lock, and one room had no closet. I had asked for a view, but one window was damaged and clouded over and the other was obstructed by an awning. We asked for a change the next day and they came through for us magnificently, although we had to split up. Our rooms were lovely, and we got a much bigger bathroom. One cautionary note: I was astonished when the bill came to see that the large bottle of water cost $5! But the building is grand and old and beautiful, and worth a few inconveniences for the added atmosphere, not to mention the excellent staff.

Room Tip: Ask about the views and the size of the bathroom.

My wife and I recently spent a weekend in Boston and stayed at the Copley Square Hotel. We reserved an Edge room online, and had no problems with the website. Twice before we arrived, I received a phone call from the staff asking if I had any special requests to make. We also recieved emails before and after our stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was well-kept and decorated, but a bit smaller than most hotel rooms that I'm used to. By far, the best aspect of our stay was the location of the hotel. There is a supermarket next door, the Prudential Center one block away (shopping, restaurants, food court), and we found that all the sights in Boston we wanted to visit were within a twenty minute walk. If we didn't feel like walking, the nearest T stop was one block away. While we were there, we also went on a duck tour, which started about 100 ft from the hotel entrance. We were quite happy and would stay here again.

Great location in the heart of Copely square. Easy walk to Symphony Hall, Newbury St Shopping and the public garden.

Had the feel of a classic boutique hotel. It was modern, nicely decorated and had a welcoming lobby. There was free wine in the lobby from 5-6 which was a great way to unwind after a day around town and before dinner. The staff was attentive.

Some minor things make this a 4-star boutique and not a 5-star hotel. The sink in the bathroom is tiny with no counter foroiletries and the room didn't have an armchair or anywhere to sit besides the bed. These minor faults are easily overlooked given the bargain price paid via priceline.com.

Just completed a two night stay at this wonderful property. It is a true gem from arrival to departure! We booked last minute for an NEU college event and got a great price. At check-in we preferred a king room and the staff offered us a great deal on the upgrade. The room was beautiful - spacious, clean, and immaculate. The bathroom was small but a very small detail in the scheme of things. Every night, the room darkening curtains were pulled, the radio set to soothing music, and the bed turned down. I have never slept better in a hotel room in my life! We sampled the wine at the wine hour - fantastic! The staff was EXCEPTIONAL and all smiles, courteous, and ALWAYS helpful. We did use the valet parking which was a tad expensive but the car was well maintained and brought promptly when we needed it. Breakfast was fresh, service was great. Some complained about noise but this was never an issue for us. What we enjoyed best was the intimate old world ambience - very luxurious setting. Loved this place and would definitely recommend to others and would absolutely want to stay here again. We could walk everywhere from this location including the short jaunt to NEU!
