A great location. Swimming pool small but lovely and warm. We enjoyed food and drinks in the bar but were stunned when a tip was demanded in the most incredibly rude way! We prefer to give tips in cash at the end of a stay, or when service has been exceptional, not to have something added to the bill each time we sign in a hotel that we're paying good money for already. The parking was very expensive too and again, we were shocked for it to be expected that we would tip on top of the sky high charge! I realise that there may be a difference in attitude to what tipping is from country to country. If staff are not paid anything other than what they collect in tips, it would help foreigners to know! A gratuity, a tip, is not compulsory. Certainly not for pouring three drinks. Staff asking for money was no different to begging in our eyes. We were glad that our next stop was Brooklyn where staff were polite, cheerful and gave the warm American welcome we have come to know.
