“Great place to stay to explore Asheville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2012

Great location! Tucked away on a quiet peaceful mountainside with great views, but just minutes from the bustle of historic downtown. Patti and Bear are the perfect hosts of a Bed and Breakfast. Always smiling, always accommodating. Breakfast is cooked fresh for you, no cold rubbery eggs here - straight from the pan to the table. There is a great patio outside with running fountain and small coy pond to gather with you travel companions to unwind from a day of exploring with a glass of wine and some cheese and crackers (and Patti's homemade humas - yum). I highly recommend Crooked Oak Mountain Inn!

My husband and I just returned home from a stay with Patti and Bear. From the moment we pulled into the driveway, early!!!!, we felt warmly welcomed. Our suite was very nice, roomy, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The food was excellent and Patti and Bear made us feel right at home. Both are very familiar with the area and went above and beyond to make our stay one to remember. Thank you both!!!!!!!

This is by far the best B&B in Ashville NC and perhaps anywhere! The service and atmosphere are second to none, and the Innkeepers, Patti and Bear, take exceptional care of their guests. The food is outstanding and their attentional to detail will greatly enhance your vistit.Truly a great place to visit and unwind!!

This B&B is tucked away on a mountainside a short distance outside of Asheville. It is in the woods with views through the woods to the mountains. We stayed in the Chestnut Suite, and it very bright and well-appointed. If you want darkness, bring eyeshades as the skylights will let the morning sun in - we did and not a problem. Breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed chatting with the owners. Likely will stay again if our travels dictate a night in Asheville.

Room Tip: We looked at both of the larger rooms and there is little to choose from. My wife will always choose...

I was in Asheville with two adult children (I know, if they're adults, how can they be children?) for a workshop, and chose this B&B because of its high rating on tripadvisor. It certainly lived up to expectations! We got in very late after a long day on the road, and found Bear waiting with a welcoming tour, the kind of hospitality that made us feel right at home. Patti's breakfasts were scrumptious, and a late afternoon libation after the workshop was just the ticket. It's certain that, if we pass this way again, we'll not pass up the Crooked Oak Mountain Inn.
