We stayed for 5 nights in September 2014 & found the apartment comfortable and the location very quiet & peaceful.
I am guessing the house was built in the 70's?
There was plenty of room for the 2 of us & it had everything we needed in the kitchen & elsewhere.
The location is very handy to central Asheville & the GPS showed many of the Cafe's & shops we were looking for to be within 3 miles of the apartment.
The owners, Tama & Allison, were friendly and helpful if we needed something, & kind of melted into the background otherwise.
The Apartment is the downstairs part of a 2 story dwelling located on the side of a slope surrounded by trees & bush. The Lake is up a short drive. The view from the lounge is primarily trees & bush and quite tranquil.
There were people staying in the Cottage above but we did not notice them.
We would stay here again. Staying there was a bit like putting on a comfortable pair of slippers.
On our first visit to Asheville we were fortunate to find this peaceful place to stay. The 1-br condo has a picture window that shows a green forest with a full bird feeder outside. There is dock on the small lake and one can canoe or use the row boat. It's a convenient location to about anything in Asheville.
We really lucked out when we found this quaint little bungalow. I don't think we could've found a more accommodating and convenient location in Asheville. We hadn't anticipated the severe weather that cut our trip a day short, but our hosts were very helpful in ensuring that we weren't snowed in indefinitely. We look forward to our return trip.

My fiend and I stayed here for a long weekend and we really enjoyed ourselves. The apartment is on the ground floor level of a larger cottage. The cottage is at the very end of a long driveway in an older, quiet residential neighborhood on a small, cute little lake. It also backs up to the dam so there is the constant comforting sound of a waterfall when outdoors and a lovely forest view. The "dock" is only steps away on the lake and was a perfect place to sit in the morning and drink a cup of coffee and take take in the lovely surroundings. They also have a nice fire pit located right by the dock and a canoe for guests to use.
The apartment itself is an older 1970's style cottage that has been rennovated and updated. The owners have left just enough of the 70's charm to keep it's authentic feel and have updated with things like tile floors, paint , fixtures and more modern furniture. Ther eis no TV, but there is a screen and DVD player. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable and the apartment itself is pretty roomy. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and dining needs, coffee pot, microwave, full sized fridge, pots and pans etc.
Everything was very clean upon arrival. Linens are provided but paper products are not, so remember to bring your own :). The organic garden looks like it's wonderful during the growing season, I also saw a couple of chickens wandering around! The owners were around and let it be known we could stop by their house (on the same property) or by phone, but they keep their distance and gave us plenty of privacy. We saw Tama outdoors often working around the grounds.
The location is excellent! It's located right off of 40/240 and is only a few miles from everything downtown.
All in all, we had a great stay. I much prefer staying in this type of accomodation over a generic hotel room.
