The menu is extensive and food is thoughtfully prepared. We were 2 and we ordered 7-8 small plates: seared scallops, octopus, gnocchi, trout, lamb chops....the last 2 needing a bit more salt but otherwise creative and inventive . Flan and flourless chocolate cake finished off the meal. This place gets crowded in weekends so make a reservation. Service is good and martinis were yummy.

I love Zambra's because there are small but very yummy plates and you can moderate your meal however you choose. The menu is far ranging so anyone can find something to eat here. I would say the wine list is not my favorite - heavy on Spanish wines, natch, but I'm not crazy about Spanish wine. The atmosphere is exotic. It's dark perfect on a winter's day, maybe not so much on a summer's day, but there is also a small patio that has a European feel to it.

We love a good wine bar, add tapas and it right up our ally. We enjoy the nibbling over a bottle or two of wine evening. Unfortunately a couple of things overshadowed what could have been a great dinner.

Firstly, although I had made a reservation we were seated at a bar table. A nice dinner will never be had perching on a barstool in the middle of a busy bar. The tables around us turned twice as it's more conducive to a glass of wine and a snack than a leisurely evening.

Secondly. The waitress was efficient once she got to us. We explained we would order a couple of things and probably do that 3 or 4 times. What she should have let us know right there was that the kitchen runs out of items so we might want to order the ones in danger first. We had even asked for recommendations but still. when we went to order items they were sold out. So while 3 of the 6 plates we had were very good 3 were just ok. We skipped a second bottle of wine and a few more plates and moved on. The pork cheeks were wonderful as was the gnocchi. Service and table killed this one. Food has potential.

Tapas and more! Great atmosphere for romance and fine food! So many selections and they can work around allergies to nuts and seafood just fine! Expect an evening of beauty with fine food and elegance.
