Description: Our Southern dishes and libations are served with a creative twist and a smile, and we serve our guests nothing that we wouldn't want on our own supper table. When we play with our food (and we think it's okay), the result is scrumptious. We're rooted in the Mountain South, and our menu is inspired by time-honored traditions: pickling and frying, canning and preserving, and utilizing seasonal produce and ingredients to prepare delicious, scratch-made creations.

This is a quaint, home town spot to eat. Comfort food and large portions. No frills, just great food in a local atmosphere. A must for lunch or breakfast.

It was very crowded and tight seating, but most of the food made up for that. I had a burger that was phenomenal. My wife had the meatloaf, which she said was mediocre at best. If we are ever in this area again, we would try this place again. The biscuit and honey was enough to make us want to go back.

First, let me start by saying we parked in a deck about 2 blocks away, with no problems, which was very, very affordable (75 cents for well over 2 hours of browsing and lunch). The rosemary lemonade is unexpected yet delightful. I had the sweet potato pancake with a side of bacon and my husband had the Uptown Cheesy Grill and Tomato Soup which he accompanied with a beer flight to round out his sampling of the local breweries. Our waiter was awesome, we only had about a 5-10 minute wait (we were there around 11:15), and we even got sausage (extremely lean and tasty, more like a burger in size!) biscuits to go so we wouldn't have to stop on our way back home for lunch. The space is a bit small, tight and noisy - but then again it's a cafe, not white table cloth.

We visited the south location on Hendersonville road, as it was a Friday night and with the drum circle going on downtown, we figured we would never get in downtown. We really like the atmosphere of the downtown location, but the south location is very nice too, and the food is consistently good in both. We took friends from out of town, and had a very enjoyable evening. We started with fried green tomatoes that were excellent! Our meals came quickly and everyone tried different things and enjoyed their selections. The sweet potato fries are some of the best. Our server was very personable and attentive. Highly recommend either location.
