“Quaint little cottage in North Carolina”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 February 2012

I can't believe the poor original occupants of this house had to put up with such substandard accommodations! No closet space, no wifi, the constant stench of crisp mountain air. My God, you have to walk a half mile just to get to the kitchen. Seriously, this place is amazing. Do yourself a favor and go really early or not on a weekend. It's crazy crowded and all the little headphoned people move rather aimlessly through the rooms, making it difficult to navigate through this cozy dwelling.

Loved the Vanderbilt Friends & Family Tour, the Biltmore Bubbles sparking wine tasting, and sporting clays lesson. Beautiful grounds and helpful staff.

“Easy to see why George Vanderbilt built his dreamhouse here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

We have been to the Biltmore time and time again. Each time, we learn something new. It's also fun to experience this historic home in different seasons. During Winter, each entry to the house gets a free audio tour. We enjoyed all the tidbits and history behind each of the rooms we toured.

We also walked down to the Conservatory and enjoyed the stunning orchid display. In the Spring the tulips are breaktaking and the roses don't disappoint during the summer. There is never a bad time to visit the Biltmore Gardens!

We took the "Legacy of the Land" tour for the first time. This 1 1/2 hour tour should have been much longer - we enjoyed it that much! Bill, our tour guide, was so passionate and knowledgeable of the Biltmore and surrounding land that we couldn't help but be passionate about it too! We loved getting to see some "behind the scenes" areas and get a full rich history of the land George Vanderbilt called home.

No visit to Asheville is complete without a trip to the Biltmore!

“Fun Day Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

The house is pretty and fun to look at, but save time to walk through the gardens and enjoy the outdoor activities too. There are trails through the gardens, woods and meadow. There are also bike trails, so bring your bike or rent one there.
