The Haywood Park Hotel is a former department store, which makes it a rather unique location. The elevators even announce a department corresponding to a floor. The rooms are larger than most hotel rooms and are well appointed. The bed was very comfortable, with great pillows and covers. Best of all, the thermostat control is right above the headboard, so you don’t even have to get out of bed to adjust the temperature. Fortunately, the hotel has not adopted those motion detection thermostats that shut off halfway through the night, so there was little need to adjust.

The Haywood is walking distance to great restaurants and bars. The hotel personnel is very helpful and accommodating.

Great location in downtown Asheville, a place that really comes alive at night. Restaurants serving every kind of dish imaginable, bars, quality street musicians....you couldn't ask for a better combination, all within walking distance. Well-appointed hotel, wonderful suites, and a caring and professional staff....I'll go back.

I had been hearing about Asheville for a long time and really was looking forward to being there. I arrived after a long day driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway and was very happy to be able to get a room at the Heywood Park by just walking up to the desk. The staff were very welcoming and the room was great, maybe more that I was looking for, but a King Suite really did make me feel special that night. The bathroom was vast and beautifully done, the room itself was very roomy and comfortable and the hotel is located in the very centre of downtown Asheville, so once I gave up the car to the valet, I could contentedly walk everywhere I wanted to go. A great experience all in all, great night's sleep and a very solid breakfast the next morning... loved it!

Extremely friendly and helpful front desk and valet staff. Great central location to everything. Rooms are great size with very comfortable beds! Turn down service at night is a very “sweet” treat. :)

This hotel is very nice but you must valet your car. Some street parking but not when it's busy. Coffee maker in the room was nice and there was a free breakfast included with the room. It was down in the cafe area and not the best. I had a terrible waffle with some really low quality bacon.(I ate it of course). You are better off to get the fresh fruit cup or made to order eggs. Everything comes on throwaway plates and plastic utensils and the jelly, butter and honey is prepackaged. This is a honey area so why do they import this stuff from Texas? Still, the staff is well trained and the bed is comfortable. I would recommend staying here.
